Good setup for support runes?

Just curious as to how support players have their rune page setup? I just bought an extra rune page, filled out my tank page, but i have no idea on where to start with support??Lulu

It depends on your ADC, do you have a duo partner? If so you can stack flat runes to try to dominate if you're both aggressive and play appropriate champions. If you're looking for late game pull a flat/scaling combo, as much as you can while surviving and having enough disengage. With randoms you just pick based on the champion you're supporting, is it strong early or late game?

TL;DR Your ADC actually matters when it comes to your own runepage IMO.

Well, i have a straight AP rune page with a little magic pen. That's usually what I use for my supports as well. I was thinking of maybe just getting like, some runes for extra gold, and some for mana regen to where i can stay in lane longer while still being helpful to my ADC, and also earn extra gold where I wouldnt be farming much if any at all?

Well...the good thing is that you needn't worry about getting GP10 quints anymore, so for pretty much every non-tanky AP support (Sona Soraka Janna Lulu Morgana etc.) you can really just use your standard AP rune pages. Other setups vary on a champ-by-champ basis. Sona, for example, particularly likes Mana Regen (for more early heals and power chords) and movement speed (to make up for her recent nerf). I lack experience with Lulu though, so I can't really recommend something for her specifically.

A current trend in high(er) elo is the following:

  • 9 Marks of Hybrid Penetration
  • 9 Seals of Health / Armor
  • 9 Glyphs of Ability Power / Magic Resist
  • 3 Quintessences of Armor / Ability Power

..which is what pretty much every support is using right now. Thus, it's probably safe to say that it works in about ~50% of all cases. ;>

i like tanky stuff with mana regeneration. im a very pokey support so that's what works for me.

I usually like

  • 9 Marks of ? Penetration (different ones for different champions)
  • 9 Seals of Health
  • 9 Glyphs of Magic Resist
  • 3 Quintessences of Armor

Although if you want AP quints you can use those instead but then you'll need to replace the seals with armor. You can also consider sneaking in a couple mana regen glyphs on some really mana hungry champions but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're confident you can make good use of all that mana and do it without getting caught.
