Is Mid-Game Currently the Most Decisive Phase in Regards to Determining the Outcome of a Game?

The Title says it all.

It seems to me that lately, with games lasting about 33 minutes on average, mid-game is currently the most influential phase in an average Solo/Duo Queue Ranked game. What are your thoughts? If you agree, do you think the 2015 changes will fix this? If you disagree, please explain why. Logical responses preferred.

Note: I realize that LCS/High ELO Ranked Team games are an entirely different atmosphere than ranked solo/duo queue. Please give your answers based on ranked solo/duo queue only. Thank you.

Side-Note: Akali This b**ch is ridiculous right now.

I personally feel that mid lane has the most potential to have the most influence on a game. Specifically because they can win their own lane, and also win top and bot by roaming. - I don't think the mid-game being the most influential phase has much to do with it.

It depends how you define the parts I guess. When early game ends at first tower taken, it's impossible to say early game is the most important as only 1 of 11 towers and 3 inhibitors are down. If late game isn't until you take an inhibitor, you're looking at 3 to 9 towers down, so up to 8 more of the 11 towers. Mid game also gives the team that inhibitor when it ends, so the super minions pushing are a hive advantage to help end the game.

With these definitions mid game is clearly the most vital. Another definition may be different

I'd say its an impossible metric to gauge properly. A champions relative power is impacted by to many factors. I've seen games won and lost by so many players doing so many different things. I'd certainly say that mid has one of the biggest impacts in the game, but most of the other roles do as well. it really boils down to how the champion fits into the comp and how the teamplay works out.
