Her burst as an AP assassin is some of the highest in the game. But she's generally considered a more consistent and reliable threat building and tanky.

I love Poppy because she can have so many good builds! I tried full AP for huge burst,AD/critical chance (TF,PD,IE),Full AD,Tank CDR

At the moment my favourite build is Hybrid:AD for early and farm (that is already difficult for Poppy),AP for burst damage late in Team Fights

You must be new, because it is a known fact that Poppy isn't AD or AP, she can literally build every single item in the game and benefit from it well. AD builds are more favored because of her mixed damage and better DPS, but AP builds offer extreme instagib power if you can land her stun.

Basically, build a Sheen item of some sort, some kind of sustain (either spell vamp, lifesteal, or both) and then whatever damage items suit your fancy.

She scales off off both and all of her abilities do magic damage.

Poppy can be ap but she works better ad with her tankiness on the side(just my opinion)

Usually AD, but if you get TF and Gunblade, her AP build is viable.
