Need Help Picking a Champion

  • **I am new to this game so the way I do things may be wrong and I ask for you to kindly correct me on it **

Recently I have been wanting to start playing against actual players instead of bots but I am afraid to get ridiculed by my team for being terrible at the game/my champ. Since I started League last year (I have been playing it on and off so I am pretty bad) I had been playing as Annie. I chose Annie because she 1.) Dealt damage from a distance so it was harder for her to take damage 2.) Is really bursty, she can inflict a lot of damage in short intervals 3.) Her R, Tibbers, is personally my favorite out of other champions I have seen because it does immense amounts of damage, pushes back enemy champs, and lasts a while. I decided to branch out from her because I was constantly having to recall for more health (probably just because I have a habit of pushing my lane/making progress) and because, although she is very bursty and frequents her attacks, she has little mana it seems. I kept getting into the situation of having no mana left to Q,W, or E which she seems to be very reliant on. A week or so ago I bought Shyvana and have been absolutely loving her. It's weird how similar she seems to Annie. (despite the fact that she is melee while Annie is ranged) She also seems to me to be a very bursty champion. I don't want to play as Shyvana anymore because she is melee and I am terrible at that. Although she is a tank, I still end up taking way more damage that I should be- as I have done with Annie.

I want the Champ to be: 1.) A powerful mage that is somewhat tanky but still deals damage from afar 2.) Able to take damage really well (have good health stats) and be able to get kills despite if their summoner is bad at killing Champs 3.) (I can't stress this enough) Easy to learn and beginner-friendly 4.) Bursty and have enough mana for their abilities 5.) Tough, (especially) high on damage, and maybe be a little mobile/be able to regen health quickly or heal themselves 6.) Able to get away from a 2v1 if needed 7.) (this is the silliest thing ever but it is very minuscule and does not matter as much as the rest but is a preference) Female 8.) Able to control their lane/push it (I prefer going mid lane but bot or top if needed) 9.) Again, a Mage or non-melee 10.) Not over 4800 IP (if they are very well suited for me I am willing to spend $10 worth of RP to buy them) 11.) * I have a very very slow computer so some things are delayed, I would prefer the champ to be very forgiving in the sense of it lagging out (if that makes sense)

Sorry this is so long but I appreciate your help so very much!

Karma :

Lots of things you can do with Karma. She's pretty easy to learn, lots of burst with R+Q, mobility with her shield, as it gives a speed boost, and pretty reliable CC/health off of her tether, which snares. Only problem is she is somewhat mana intensive, meaning you will have to pickup a Doran's ring, and last hit a few minions with AA's to keep your mana bar full.

Lissandra : Pretty durable, decent escape, and lots of CC. Her passive ensures that you will be able to cast an ability, even if you run out of mana. Her ult is also pretty useful, as you can either use it to hold enemies in place, to burst them down, or you can target yourself and heal up. However, her mana costs are high, so you can spam spells willy-nilly.

I'll check them out Sorry for asking but is Diana similar to them in any way? I was just looking at her and she seemed pretty intriguing

Diana's an assassin, so a lot of her depends on making split-second decisions, and properly combining abilities. She is melee, but she does have a shield, an AOE pull, a ranged skillshot, and her ult is a targeted dash.

Thanks for telling me, I was on the verge of buying her.

um...uh...KAYLE! Kayle 450 IP,same as annie. with some mana can A:heal herself a bit(also boosts movement) B:turn her MELEE attacks into splash damage ranged attacks (the general thing is full attack speed and AP to delete.) C: her ult makes somebody(you or a teammate of your choice) invincible for 2 seconds at lv1 and 3 seconds when maxed out. and D:shyvana is actually a jungler, idk if your lv 9 cause with that you get a summoner spell called smite. summoner 11 lets you get item 1041 item 1039 which gives extra XP from monsters in the area between lanes, what junglers do is get objectives (the dragons and big purple thing before 20 minutes in the game. but ignore the golem thing nobody uses that...) and run into lanes to help get kills. from what ik kayle can also jungle and E:those little smite items also turn into 1 item that gives a special boost to your smite for use on champions, and another boost like holding wards, boost your max HP,or make you do max health damage. which is very mean on full attack speed junglers/ones with high attack speed,Nocturne...

Also would Diana be a good champion for me? I'll still check out the champions that are recommended.

Ahri is pretty good!

She is a really well balanced champion, she can poke from a far, and her ulti is kind of a free "woops i messed up" ability and shes very mobile because of it . She is very bursty and deals quite a lot of damage (not as instant as a strong annie tho) and her cooldowns are relatively short so you can continue to deal damage in long teamfights. She has decent CC with her E charm and her abilities are very straightfoward. Her Q has very good wave clear ability, and it does true damage (ignores armour/magic resist)! The only thing thats bad i can think of is that she is skill shot reliant as her Q and E are skill shots, which may be hard to land if your computer is too laggy :/. But if not, then practice makes perfect!

Hope this helps and have fun on the rift!
