Core problem with jungle

Look at support items that we got with in patch 3.14. We got Spellthief's Edge, Ancient Coin and Relic Shield, all 3 of which can be built in greater items (Spellthief's Edge for AP supports, Talisman of Ascension for utility supports and Face of the Mountain for tanky supports). What Riot did is let supports start with the item that is best suited for them for the laning phase (e.g.: As a Leona you probably want to be tanky from the start and, because you have no sustain or a heal for your ADC, you probably want to pick up that Relic Shield) And after that supports didn't have to buy Rejuvenation Bead, a couple of wards and done. But what do we see with junglers? Exactly, everyone is put in the same position, be it Warwick or Nautilus . Everyone has to start with Hunter's Machete. I believe that this is the core problem of jungling, the diversity of first item that you can buy. I believe that junglers should be allowed to choose from different starting items (which will help weaker jungler, a.k.a. tanks). I don't know if Riot realizes that, but Quill Coat was the best moment tanks have had in jungle in a long time. It gave you enough sustain in jungle and on top of that you had a neat monster damage. My take at improving the jungle can be found at the top of the thread The only problem with it is that it would need a complete jungle item upgrade overhaul. tl;dr: Rito, delete Machete.

I miss quill coat so much. it was the single best item ever. 700 gold for regen, damage back against monsters, armor, and a ward.

I suggested this a month ago, but got downvoted to hell.

I personally think they need to buff the hell out of jungle monster damage, give them flat armor pen, and then make a nice tanky starting item for tank junglers to synergize off of. Now you have tanks who can stay healthy in the jungle and look for ganks, and you have damage junglers who can clear quickly but take a beating and have to take a greater risk when ganking.

This would help so much with jungle diversity (at least with early clears). Since there are some junglers who struggle with mana reserves, and then there are some who struggle with surviving. At least maybe there should be the jungle items (same as now) but have the passives from the starting jungle items carry over to keep the bonus effects, or something.

I love this idea. Especially if they're kept apart from the enchantments, so that if I have an AP stacker who needs the tanky option or the physical damage option for the early couple of clears, I can still get the Magus Enchantment.

Early game items (where the jungle is most important[besides objectives]) vs mid game items ( like the ones we have now) I really approve of this, but what about the squishy ad champs like kha who can't clear a camp without losing all their health early game

supports items were a TERRIBLE idea, just saying

i'm not talking about increased income, i'm talking about items made just for 1 single class in the game, it's retarded, before you could actually use your brain and choose

Machete A: Autos deal 20 bonus damage to monsters and reduces damage from monsters by 10. 400 gold Machete B: The current one, with the DoT buffed. 400 gold

Smite upgrades: Machete A + Machete B + 50 gold

Machete start stops me from breaking the meta...

If Riot adds starting items for tanks then i can Garen jungle again... WANT! The new PBE jungle item is basically a "JungleFire cape" anyway.

You know what? I don't want that... I NEED IT!

Why can't u have three machetes of sorts. That can all be upgraded into current Jungle item separetly. No reason they can't coexist side by side. Have one machete that gives u %bleed another that gives u maybe bit more mana regen spell DMG, then machete

Quill coat was built out of machete though. So they still had to have the same starting item. Also, Riot is helping tank junglers by giving them that new enchant to replace juggernaut.

These suggestions are insanely stupid

What Riot should REALLY do instead is have like, multiple jungling items each one with stats and effects ideal for each like type of jungler

like one for physical, one for magical and one for tanks

I wholeheartedly agree with you on the need for separate starting points. Having the different end enchantments is a great thing, but it is too late to really help. however, your suggestions completely miss the point, since they are all still tailored to auto attacking champions (deal bonus Mdamage on hit) which still leaves junglers like tanks or APs, who have really low base AS, suffer more than they should.
