Still bitter about the Veigar rework...

As a previous Veigar main, I was just thinking about how it's been ages since I last bothered playing as him and that it has been even longer since I've seen a Veigar in game. I remember people arguing that he was actually better post rework because he can farm more safely & efficient but from what I can tell that's rubbish.

Anyone else still feeling the sting from the Veigar rework? I miss everything about playing him, he great lines, that laugh, his play but it is so frustrating pretending his stun is in any way reliable.

I just wish he would be as strong as he was before "compensation", but to say that he is any better than he was before is just lying.

I don't find him fun to play anymore, I don't find him reliable, and I can't think of any comp where he fits better than other bursty TF oriented mages.

True, he is no longer the piece of trash 38% win-rate 0.00001% pick-rate patch 5.4 made him, but the popularity loss definitely shows how successful his rework really was, and it seems the door is officially closed for more buffs for a long time.

I don't even want him to be next to Zed and Katarina above 50% ban rate and picked in 1/3 games. All I wanted was for him to still be a niche pick: underrated but very powerful. Now he is a nearly instant lost lane with a horrible pick rate, whose popularity is below Urgot's and whose ban rate is nearly 0%.

I've been playing him a lot lately. He seems pretty decent. He has some matchups that used to be skill matchups that are now just bad, like Yasuo or Zed. For the most part though I haven't been having any problems with him, and once you get to midgame with reasonable farm blowing people up with 2 spells is a ton of fun.

I can tolerate the E delay by itself, but I despise the fact that Veigar's W is still reliant on it. Dark Matter should be changed so that it can be used effectively by itself (without CC— ex: larger AOE, shorter delay, etc.), or it should be reworked entirely.

Nope. And his stun needed that nerf, it was extremely reliable.

He was a low skill cap, low counterplay, extremely high damage mage that needed a rework. Otherwise, he would never see a buff again and every time he started looking strong, he would get nerfed.

I do feel the Veigar rework has a minor problem and it is his Event Horizon visual delay. I feel the delay should remain the same between casting and it taking effect, but I feel the visual for the opponent should be reduced slightly. Much like Cho Gath's Rupture, where there is a delay between the cast and the visual appearing.

This would require Veigar to still be more calculated about how he wanted to use Event Horizon, but makes it a bit less easy to escape with mobile champions.

In terms of Veigar being trash, If I see Chogath ,Azir Yasuo ,Nidalee, TwistedFate or Zed in the mid lane, I will definitely pick him and they will loose. Supposedly Yasuo is one of Veigar's biggest counters, wrong, Zed will destroy Veigar, wrong. You get where I'm going.
