Keeping Up with the Meta...ians

Hello! I have been a League player since season 3, and I've always tried to stay true to what worked back then. I've tried out the popular champions and builds, but I've always felt a little...dirty. Now, don't get me wrong. I love trying new things, but I am also someone who likes to stick with, you could say, traditional methods.

For example, Lucian was the champion that got me hooked into this game. I loved buying crit items as they were the recommended build. This Black Cleaver and Youmuu's Ghostblade build made an appearance recently, and though it has decreased in popularity, or so it seems, it still had an impact on the champion. Using the built felt disgusting because it was so strong, and that led to him being banned for quite a while. My drive-by master was out of my reach for some time, and it embellished my hatred of ''META'' builds.

With that said, I am curious as to what your opinions are on this subject. I know I'm just stubborn and weird, but I am wondering whether or not anyone else feels the same way. Are there people out there who also try to stay true to the original play styles? Do you guys feel like this bandwagon-like type of picking is a bit annoying?

Btw, I am also trying to climb, and maybe I should start playing these ''Flavor of the Month'' champions. It seems to be working for some people.
