Karma's shield bomb was removed, her passive makes no sense now

What is the points of keeping that passive, if it only works on few action ?

P.s: They copy my idea for old karma

Tethered target enemy will restore caster's HP for 10% taken damage .

They didn't change her passive they just buffed it...

And the shield cooldown scales and her rW is great with allies now. Great buffs to support Karma while weakening her solo lane a little. It's an improvement.

Does her solo laning need weakening, though?

I've considered playing Karma in SR (Only played her in ARAM), and I don't like the idea of supporting as her. Seeing as it's almost never played, does solo lane Karma need a nerf?

I dunno if it needed to be weakened. Her lane phase is super good though.

Support Karma is basically mage Karma. You buy damage and you wreck. But only if you manage to keep the enemies on their toes by poking constantly.

How is any of this really a nerf to solo-Karma?

Support Karma:

  • Passive: Buff
  • W: Buff
  • Empowered W: Buff (ADC can help get more damage as well as some sustain)
  • E: Buff (lower base value, but more spammable, net buff)
  • Empowered E: Buff (almost never used for damage, usually an initiate ability)

Solo/Jungle Karma:

  • Passive: Buff
  • W: Buff (Targets jungle mobs, kind of a big deal for jungle Karma)
  • Empowered W: Unchanged (She will still heal and deal bonus damage, now she just needs to hit them with a Q and some AAs to access it, it has potential for a lot more or a lot less based on how much Karma attacks during that time)
  • E: Buff
  • Empowered E: Debatable (Improved utility and defense, less offensive power, net gain or loss depends on your personal play style)

Her empowered W in particular is her best ability for duels. On live it procs twice giving 40% hp returned plus an amount based on her AP and missing health. On PBE this is changed to only 20% and based on followup damage. It's a lot less reliable and probably heals for less too.

fair enough, we'll have to just wait and see how much it actually effects her damage once the changes actually come out.

In a team fight though, this is a major buff to Karma no matter her role though, just because she heals everyone and herself and the bonus damage amp will allow her team to burst someone pretty hard.

I agree, but I don't think we'll be seeing a tankier toplane karma anymore after these changes. Her RoA + IBG toplane build was a lot of fun :[

Maybe still midlane mage karma, but I think support will still be a better place for her than mid when you could pick Orianna instead and have a greater impact mid with a similar enough kit.

I'm mostly excited to try out Jungle Karma now :D

That's true. She could be very frightening in the jungle assuming her clear is good enough. Chilling smite, shield to speed herself up, and then W to root for a gank would be quite strong. Her pre6 burst is pretty huge if she lands her mantra Q as well. Main concern is that you would then lack a cinderhulk frontliner and Karma doesn't really do enough damage to get through that kind of tankiness.

...Her passive worked better with her Q and W than her R-E.

Because you are the one who can land her Q on 5 champs in team fight

Because you or a teammate are going to be in the middle of the entire enemy team in any rational situation.
