A letter to Riot Games

Dear Riot, My name is Playsferdays and I regret to inform you that I am taking a break from league for the 3rd season out of the total of 8 years I've been playing the game with my first 2 breaks being season 3 and 5. League has always been a game I've cherished and loved to play outside of the 2 aforementioned seasons but, regrettably, the game has reached a state that for players like myself that is completely unappealing.

I enjoy the grind of the game playing a 25 minute farm fest and relying on micro and macro to win the game. But now we are in a state of quite simply "the better jungler wins" or "win lane win game". This is simply not fun for the players who rely on their late game decision making and team fight prowess. You've removed the ability for players who simply enjoy just farming for 25 minutes to hit their power spikes and then try to carry from doing so. I reached platinum not by being good mechanically or even being the best farmer. I reached plat because I had the ability to understand the late game and position myself properly and play smart. Now being able to do so isn't enough. I either need to completely stomp my opponent into RQing or pray my jungler is stomping their jungler and try to assist him in doing so. I cant just play the I am going to farm and stall out game anymore.

This is without even mentioning the fact that even in platinum it seems like the number of AFKs and/or RQs is on the rise. I love league I really do but it seems like you guys at riot don't want to cater towards balancing all aspects of the game to make every play style viable anymore.

Even when we were in the long game meta that was the only viable strategy. Riot back in season 4 stated that they were committed to making every strategy viable and I haven't seen any proof of that in the 4 season I've been playing since. I think riot is a fantastic and very transparent company that I have nothing but respect for. Hence why I have played for 5 out of the 8 seasons. Which is also why I know I'll be back soon as the meta fits the play style of myself and others, or is at the very least a viable option at all.
