Is it okay to lose CS if it means freezing the lane? (and some other questions)

To be clear, I'm mostly talking about Top Lane as Wukong MonkeyKing, SionSion, or Kayle Kayle.

There have been so many instances in League where no matter how hard I try to freeze the lane, it keeps getting pushed into the enemy tower. Times where I'm just last-hitting and not using abilities, but the wave just won't stop going forward. I'm only in Silver, so it could be that I'm just better at last-hitting than who I'm laning against.

What do I do in these scenarios?: (I understand this can vary wildly based on who I'm playing, laning against, and who the enemy jg is).

  1. The creep wave is at the enemy tower and I don't have vision of the river (say someone destroyed my item 2043 and my item 3340 / item 3363 is on cooldown. Is it better to recall and get a new item 2043, or just hang back as far as I can so I can escape a gank?

  2. The creep wave is at the enemy tower and I DO have vision of the river, but I don't know where the enemy jg is.

  3. My jungler tells me to let the wave push up so he can gank.

  4. I'm pushed against my tower for the entire laning phase. 4a. I'm not safe under my own tower. 4b. My Jungler is too busy to help me or is feeding. 4c. All the other enemy lanes are also fed, or I'm so far behind that attempting to gank another lane is almost guaranteed death. 4d. Leaving lane has a 100% chance of my tower being destroyed.

(I may have other questions later that haven't come to mind right now)

1-2) In theory, if you can safely push the wave under tower, do so then back. The wave will bounce back to you. If they freeze the lane, it puts you in a bad spot. With that being said, you're in silver. For the most part, people don't understand lane mechanics. In general, I don't like pink wards for early vision, just since it creates a 105g gap, for how easy they are to find and destroy.

A lot of this is relative, who are you playing and who you're against. You can afford to be more aggressive against weak gankers like early warwick.

  1. Ganking depends on laner respect. If you're winning lane, they aren't going to shove against you, or play aggro. If you're losing lane, they should be playing aggresively anyways. Best thing you can do is typically bait. Put yourself in an akward position, and try to get them to go in.

  2. Try to do something in another lane or outplay. If you're going to get dove all game, you can either try to outplay them under tower, or rotate. Your champion pool is relatively hard to tower dive though, so (A) shouldn't be too bad.

Top lane doesn't get ganks. For the most part, just play safe as you can and look for opportunities to roam to other lanes. (B)

If mid / bot lane loses, you lose lane by default. Just play smart, try to pick fights you can win, and look for any way back into the game. (C)

Losing tower isn't necessarily bad. If your tower dies, then they have to push up to apply pressure, leaving them incredibly weak to ganks. It also gives you a chance to catch up in farm and exp, assuming your team survives. (D)

Shrug... I'm not that good with this kind of thing... but CS might be the most important thing in the game next to the enemy Nexus so...

Since no one has replied in over half an hour, I figured I'd bump the post.

just getting the last hit wont substantially push the lane
