Can Galio get some love from RIOT ?

Admittedly, I am pretty newb in this game and came back after 3 years of not playing. My 1st AP pick was Galio since I love his mechanics and animations. Anyway, is it just me or Galio really lost his performance in comparison with other/new champs? It feels like Galio is underdog in a current champs pool. It is even hard to describe what role Galio suppose to have - not a bruiser, not assasin, not support. A mage?! - but his AP scaling is abysmal while uses a lot of mana. Wondering, if Galio is still being played at high level ? What is your opinion about this champ?

I absolutely LOVE Tank Galio. Which is his intended role, by the way.

Everyone wants to play a carry, and I'm Mid. We have Quinn top, Kha'Zix jungle, Jhin bot, and Soraka support. No one picks a tank.

The reason his AP scaling is so low is because he gets free AP with MR.

His abilities are a bit outdated compared to all the other overloaded champions that have been released, so there's picks that can do similar things but more efficiently (engaging, AoE cc, and stat buff).

He is still a strong pick in some situations, but I feel that his mana costs hurt him a lot in lane.

He definitely should get a rework, especially his E, it's just boring and weak.

Galio problems: 1: He is melee. Free harass. 2: His is imobile, yet, his ult demands him a amumu centric TF. Works on bronze, silver. Gold means you are relevant only when flash is up. 3: Q hit box. His Q is his bread and butter, yet, it is worse than lux E.
