For those who say Swain isn't a tactical

So I've recently been reading vgu ideas for Swain,(Swain main here) and I keep hearing a common theme, that he isn't tactical, which in my opinion is wrong.

Reasons being is what is your idea of tactics? In league a good tactic is what? List me any champ which u really have to be tactical with honestly, if anything he has that theme, I hear azir being one all azir has is soldiers and a wall basic cc, nothing special just learn to place and zone, he works more like a lux than a control mage, with Swain all just see the giant bird and some how he isn't tactical, yes granted the bird does have its seemingly overwhelming aspect but it does not come without cost, two of his abilities are cc and another a dot and sure u can throw out your full combo and kill if you are fed or scare them off enough with it.

But a good Swain a Swain main knows there is a lot more tactic there placing ur cc down correctly putting your bird where it be most effective selecting a priority in a mass of champs a Swain can 1v3 and lose but a good Swain can also 1v3 and win by cc kiting and selecting the correct targets in order, I have no clue why people harp on the bird so much in fact it's not his strongest feature it takes a shit ton of Mana and the radius can easily be zoned out if played against correctly, with Swain is a bunch of set up

When he was announced it was stated his gameplay or the gameplay riot had in mind was a mid range control mage the excelled in singling out priority targets, the tactic is there he sets up like no other and it does require you to know when and what u can get away with risk vs reward.

I'm sure there could be more strategy with the vgu but honestly not much to be done really the only thing that i believe that would make everyone happy with the "tactic" theme would be if his bird form was just that a form much like nids or Elise what Swain lacks or what people assume he lacks in tactic is just options that is what most mean, because you can't say those with only a four move set compared to those with six are less tactical they just lack options, they aren't less tactical the tactic is there it's how u play, if u just button mash and all u see is the bird I assume why someone would assume he takes no tactic, I can button mash and if fed or with a decent build any champ could probably delete the other and if people chose to play like that that's them but that doesn't mean the champ does not take skill and can't be used tactically.

It requires tactics to play most any champion correctly and it most certainly requires tactics to play a champion extremely well.

That does not automatically bestow upon a champion the title "tactician".

The player is the tactician, not the champion.

Swain has never felt like a tactician to me. Just a mage who turns into a life-sucking monster.

i mean i seen a swain press R and walk into our team getting lulu ulted and aegis and lulu shielded then he zhonya healed to full an kept walking into us till we all died. not very tactical to me.

Well, he does give up on approaching from the flank, in lieu of morphing and eating them.
