What is even special about ARSR?

It shares the random factor of ARURF and ARAM, Nuthin special. random can be onesided players will be forced to quickly decided who goes where one side will have a jgler while the other will not those with duo lanes have to share gold from minions or will be outclassed by their opponents do to range no in game buffs or special objectives op champs are available when they could have been banned Its Literally normals but random, the tryhard is still there so it negates the purpose of relax and chill Tbh Normals seems like a better option at least u can feed/carry with a champ u enjoy This Mode is just plain Bland i was expecting something fun to over this spring break but this just didnt live up to my expectations, Riot u cant be serious with this.... its April, we expect much more than..... whatever this is......

All Random Summoner Rift. Basically ARAM but on the Summoner Rift map. I found this gamemode boring personally, no real interest, since you can't even earn any mastery point. If they make it permanent, I think it will be a mistake but well. Who knows ?

You can earn mastery points, just not tokens.

It's ARAM like, but I find it's better than ARAM since if your champ excels at splitpushing or 1v1's or (not-teamfighting), you can potentially still do that and not just be screwed as in ARAM.

It also produces some silly situations akin to nemesis draft, where it may be the case that someone finds themselves going ADC Janna, and it is in fact the strategically best choice given the comp. And what's more, ADC Janna might be sucessful depending on the enemy comp and their respective familiarity with their champ/roles. I find playing silly off-meta stuff (either in role or build) to be really fun, but you can't typically do that in normals without a lot of flak from your teammates. Plus, as fun as off-meta stuff is, one still wants to win, and playing off-meta against what is almost certainly fully meta team is rarely going to work out. With ARSR, one can get the best of both, playing silly off-meta and still standing a reasonable win chance.

It is just a rotating game mode. They don't all have to be "special." It is just something different, where you can't choose your team comp and your (optimal) role.
