Veigar, you were my first main and you were the funnest champ to play. You were too beautiful and so they had to destroy you.

I too was a veig main. (note past-tense) Just tried the changes, and it feels like I'm not even playing veig anymore. He's just too different, too unreliable I felt almost completely powerless in the game I just played, despite having 230 q stacks and just my ult alone 100-10 the enemy veig.
I picked veig up solely because of 2 reasons:
he was easy to play. Simple and straight forward press q, do dmg, land stun? full combo nuff said
he was reliable! that means I can trust him to perform well in all situations, and if he did not do so, it was because I screwed up, not because the enemy picked a better champ and "out played" me.
It is such a terrible feeling when you do everything you know you should do, the way it should be done, and still fail because of what the enemy did, rather than you simply screwing up.
One core reason I pick veigar going into matches is because he can catch ppl out of position and punish them for it. I can't do that anymore. The delay on his stun completely destroys any attempt to do so. Even if I center my gate directly on the enemy champ, they can still WALK out of it. Not only does that put me dangerously closer to the enemy than I need to be, but it also means that I am guaranteed to "miss" my stun every time I cast it, even if it does stun some ppl.
What I mean by a guaranteed "miss" is that if old veig missed his stun, he was screwed. That, or the enemy just walks away, depending on their position.
The game I just played, the enemy team had a talon top. When talon started roaming, I had enough dmg to kill him, but without any means of cc'ing talon before he jumped on me, I was a free kill. There was no possible way for me to "counter play" the enemy talon short of dropping my stun long before he was in range to jump on me and run away as fast as I could. It felt terrible. I had plenty of dmg to kill him, but I just could not get in range to do so due to him being able to kill me before I stunned him.
tl;dr - Good job riot, veigar now has "counter play." It's a shame I'll never be using that lovely Final Boss veigar skin again, cuz veig is just utter trash now. Hope yer happy, cuz I really did like that skin.

Veigar was one of my first IP purchases... I'm going to miss playing him anywhere other than Co-op versus AI and ARAM. We can always hope that Riot will compensate him for making his E practically useless and his W totally useless without help from an ally's hard CC, but hey, their recent balance changes don't really inspire hope. i tried him in a bot game and kept getting taunted by bots which couldn't decide if they want to walk inside or outside of the stun, and after they stopped wandering in and out they still didn't get stunned.
I have no idea why i even tried him in a PvP game after. The enemy team took full advantage of my E being useless by constantly 3 man ganking me and such.

I remember picking up Veigar in season 2. I sucked with him, so I decided I'd just stick with top and ADC.
pre-season 3 I picked him up again, and let me tell you it was like re-uniting with a long-lost friend. I'd improved, and it felt like Veigar improved. Deleting people, playing it super cautiously when walking through an unwarded jungle when going to place a key ward that'd let me steal Baron/Dragon, kill someone while they were trying to farm, or securing an escape point.
Season 4 comes around and I still play Veigar whenever I need to mid as my 'safe' pick. Nuking down AP while occasionally dying to them, dying in the blink of an eye to a Master Yi who worked his way around the team to flank and kill me specifically.
These... These were fantastic times. Fun times.

The veigar changes where to much, didn't focus on anything that was actually wrong. His mana costs are too high, now he double farm with q sure. But he misses out on harassing with q which a good veigar does. His w is unhittable now and his e well, i dont mind the warning but it needs to be fixed to something lower and less clunky. I cant 1v1 anyone in mid anymore as veigar cause my dmg is unreliable like people have said. I cant land my w, if they are actually a goo player e will never land. Q's range is soooo short meaning i have to get close to even harass. I used to be able to dominate annies in lane. But now it seems like i should just start playing annie. Veigar is litierial free elo now.

I've had a few Veigars on my team today and they absolutely dominate, all of these whiny threads about Veigar being ruined are just ignorant IMO. Actually play a few games with him first. The only real downside to his changes are the stun delay, because now you can't aim it, you have to just place it and hope the enemy runs into the wall.
RIP in pieces veigar you we always a fun champ to play, too bad your kit got gutted(even though the Q change was more than enough)

I QQ'd so hard rip my sweet master of evil hopefully riot will learn in time to bring u back to ur rightful place but as with all these unjust nerfs I highly doubt let us all chant for the master of evil to be brought back to his balanced playstyle and eventhough riot lied and said he compensated for his dfg loss he is now forgive me for saying this my fellow veiger players but shit tier now cuz of these changes

Veigar, you were the guy who inspired me to give fanfictions a go (EUW forums are gone too so... RIP EUW GD too :/ ), and I still feel like a Veigar being rivals with Syndra could work very hilariously. I bought you just because you looked cute AND evil, without even checking your skills or playstyle (yes I was a noob), but I loved your kit anyway. I will remember my first game, when I ulted a full health full tank Garen just because it seemed right, without doing much damage.
I will remember the few games I managed to win against Zed or Yasuo with perfect stun timing and outplaying their mobility. I will remember defending you whenever some of my premades told me you were trash-tier. I will remember yelling at people picking you as a support after C9 did it, just because I respect you too much as a tormenter of souls that seeks to farm his AP all day.
I will never forget your laughs, and I will still try to get someone at Riot to give you a spotlight before you are finally buried next to Urgot and Evelynn. Hope Syndra and you finally overcome your differences in Tier 4 :')
Part of me is still glad those changes happened now instead of later, as I was this close to buying your amazing legendary skin.
