I can't play Malzahar in Ranked anymore ... he is too nerfed.

My Resume: I main Malzahar. I have more games in Malzahar than anyone else in the world, ranked #1 in Mastery... and I am ashamed to play him anymore in ranked games. These most recent Nerfs have ruined Malzahar as a Midlane / Jungle champ. He was never intended to be support, and please stop trying to convert him into one!

He has soo many nerfs right now after the re-work. Its worse than playing with out any Masteries or Runes.

His kill potential sucks. He can't push lane anymore. His mobility and AA range are poor.

PLEASE fix Malzahar!!!!

Needed Changes: Modify the voidlings so they have hitpoints like the pre-rework, and bring back frenzy. To reduce Support Lane problems, only let Voidlings Multiply when it is facing Jungle, Drag or Baron. Or when Malz cast his ult, they Multiply temporarily.

W: On 1st cast it drops JUST ONE voidling
W: On second Cast within the cooldown, W drops the Pre-Rework "NULL ZONE"

Fix His Ult, so that Knock up / CC / Quick Silver Sash Convert the Suppress into a SLOW, and also the "tether" is not broken. Voidlings can Multiply during Ult.

Malzahar really needs some scaling damage because his DPS has greatly suffered.

As far as Passive is concerned. Bring the Shield CC timer back to 0.5secs.

Maybe that has more to do with your builds than it does the champion's strengths. The right way to build him is item 3027 (or situationally item 3165 ) > item 3020 > item 3116 > item 3151 > item 3135 > item 3089 .

You're building item 3070 and item 3285 on him when those items are awful on him.

Yeah, they might provide more AP, but they don't give him the utility that those other items do.

Rylai's has a slow that's applies by your E consistently and also applies by your voidlings. Liandry's has a dot that synergies extremely well with your E and ult. Void staff should be bought on nearly every mage mid lane and DC is a very good end game AP item. RoA also helps you be tanky enough so you don't put yourself at a massive risk while ulting.

A really important point I need to make is that Malz is in the subcategory of mages known as "Liandry's mages" these are mages that use that item as core.

Other Liandry's mages include Brand AurelionSol Azir Morgana Rumble Orianna Swain Taliyah Zyra and these two if ahead by enough; Elise Evelynn I could also remark about how Syndra is apart of this group but tbh that's pretty meta based and liandry's is pretty good vs the current top tier.

And I used to build Rylai and Liandry. But they nerfed Rylai.

And they nerfed Malzahar's base speed.

Honestly tho, and no offense meant, you clearly need to PLAY HIM more to see how bad it is now.

I can barely play Malz in not games... Not sure if it's because of the nerfs or lack of skill tho. :P

I used to play ranked a lot. And then I stopped in season 6

It wasn't until recently I realized I only played ranked because it helped tracked how well I did compared to other Malzahar players.

Apparently I wanted to become the #1 Malzahar NA if not the World.

Now I have no motivation what-so-ever and am just waiting for a revert lol

he sucked from day one. he was just op. he was awful to play mid. he was unbeatable top and jungle tho.

TL;DR Revert Voidlings. Make W into a mix between Kass E and Azir W Null Zone on ult applies a Dot instead of just damage, buff base damage. Buff E Damage.

I admire you, I want most mastery points on a champ someday(I think I'm 2035 most on malzahar) But yeah, hes fucked, and almost every malz thread has solutions but riot is just ignoring them.

Rofl, hey Mataka Tek This is gonna sound weird, but try this.

Play mid malz. item 1056 item 2003 start... Then grab a item 3802 and then go for item 3116 or item 3151

Here's the kicker though. Don't waste any ranks in W. Put them all into E and Q and play him like the mage he use to be. You might be pleased with the results xD

Turns out the base damage lowering on E was one of the biggest nerfs to affect him.
