Junglers, Top, and annoying pings

Ok this is based on my last match....I went Ill jungler (i'll admit i need to work on it but i do fairly well when allowed to farm and gank when i choose to)...Our bot was a Trist and Zyra, Mid was Talon, and Top Olaf...

Our top laner gave up 5 kills to Akali (enemy top laner) all while i was in bot farming...Everytime i go to help, he takes off or does repeated Caution pings where it annoys me so much i just leave and he dies to her shortly after. End match, he was 0/17.... His reasoning, Lag..

So junglers, what do y'all think i should've done? I went to help repeatedly but by the time i was even able to gank there, she was already able to easily shred my health.... And Olaf was practically useless (early game the Akali only had 4 rejuv beads for items and was able to easily shred my already large health pool) in the fights...

i've just started jungling but from my limited success and from the guides and info and streams i've been learning rapidly and one thing in common is;

if a lane is lost, forget it and leave it to rot, snowball another lane if you can, otherwise focus getting objectives which in turn (some of them) give global gold and will help his predicament.

I hate to say it, but in this case, the match-up top wasn't the best one. Is he picked Olaf, then the player who picked Akali counter picked well. I agree with Guns, you should have just left the lost lane alone. There was nothing you could have done to revert the losses.
