its time we talk Ahri

oh Ahri, she is one of the forbidden champs to talk about on the forum because you get nothing but downvotes, but i think its time to talk about her kit and how she can be better. lets look at how she is suppose to be as a champ, she is a mage assassin hybrid, looking at all her abilities she falls into that pretty well, but she doesn't excel at either of them. Her passive is spellvamp, nothing too special, it gives her nice sustain in the laneing phase. this falls within the mage category of her champion.

Her Q is a skill shot that does on the way out and true damage on the way in. this is one of her best abilities. it stays relaxant against all champs because of the true damage on it. i would put this in the mage category, typically assassins don't have good aoe waveclear

Her w is an auto target ability that sends 3 little fires at the closest people prioritizing champs. this abiltiy is for single target damage so i would put it in the assassin category.

Her E is charm, a skillshot that makes people hit by it walk towards her without attacking. this is an assassin tool, hit a single target alone, and while they cant do anything you try and blow them up, so this falls under the assassin category

Her ult are 3 dashes that deal damage to 3 separate targets. I would put this under assassin category because its used get to out of position people and squishes and set up for landing other abilities and i also has a little dmg on it

OK now that we know what she does, im going to say my thoughts on how we can make her better to play and play against Her passive is meh, its nice to have if you take damage and don't feel like recalling. I don't think its toxic to go against mainly because she has to use abilities to build up charges, and if she is using abilities she will go oom very quickly

Her Q is questionable some people like the movespeed and some people hate it. as a ahri main i honestly hate it. i feel as though its taking up some of her power budget. playing against this is unfair. if ahri misses her charm she will just throw her Q out and run away, it makes it hard to punish and removes her counterplay. my change would be to remove the movespeed but increase the ap scaling and lower the mana cost. increasing the scaling won't make her op in the laning phase but it will give her move dmg late game for losing that safety.

Her W is honestly a basic, stale, and bad ability. the dmg is low and get reduced if it hits the same target more than once, the range was nerfed back in season 5 i believe? i would just total remake this ability. i would make it a skillshot that fires off essence orbs and if all the orbs hit and steals their essence and deal max hp as magic dmg, and also heals ahri for a percent of that percent dmg done. i think this could hit into her theme of stealing essence and using it for herself

her E is still good for the player, but for the person going against ahri its a little too good. i wont lie i miss my charms a little too much in lane but the cooldown is so low that i can just sit back for a then go back out. all other mages like lux and syndra have longer cooldown on their cc abilities and when its down they are more vulnerable then ahri is. the ap scaling the ability got was nice, but i think the move should have a longer cooldown and a lower mana cost, because it does stop on the first target hit while other mages can go through targets. the longer cooldown will give people ample time to set up ganks and just use their combos to kill her, or force her ult out.

Her ult is is pretty good, decent cooldown, decent damage, and decent range. as i said before i think its mostly used to get in position to kill out of position people, i would like to see the nerf reverted so she can have a little bit more damage

so these are just some of my thoughts i had for a while on what can be done to ahri to make her more enjoyable but also fair to lane against. if you guys have any suggestions please put them in the comments, this is my first time making a long discussion, so any thoughts on how to make it shorter would be nice

Lets wait and see how pre season settles. If Ahri proves to be weaker than we think, then we will assess her.

I only really agree on remaking her W. That ability is bad. She needs some nice damage there or perhaps some sort of cc that comboes with her ult or Q. Although we have to wait to see how well she does with the new runes. As for her Q movement speed, I like it mainly because it has allowed me to chase low health targets and finish them off, which wouldn't be possible without the MS boost, or if her W weren't so crappy a full combo would be better.

Depending on what she becomes with the new runes her passive should be reworked. But that heal only helps her early game. Perhaps a new passive could be a juicy MS boost and % AP damage boost if she lands her E and both hits of her Q. I mean, the idea is to make her rewarding but not so easy that she can carry a bronze player up to diamond without effort.

I agree with you for the most part. I wouldn't mind a rework for her W and passive, even if it leaves her in the same balance state she is now. Her W especially is one of the worst-feeling skills still in the game next to Akali's E.
