How many cs should I aim for?

I am now at 120-130 cs for 20 mark as a mid lane. I was wondering, if this is considering okay because i am silver 4. Let me know what should I aiming for.

What to aim for: 10/minute Realisticly alot of champions cannot reach that, others can go even further.

it's kinda cute to see people here talking about 7-8 being good or how little CS matters... CS is single most important stat in this game, Not only does is grant gold but even more importantly EXP! Those who realize it and play around it can solo-carry games with ease, those who don't will keep crying how bad teammates make them unable to carry.

Your entire decisionmaking during a game should resolve around CS. When to roam, when to split, when to do objctives should ALWAYS include how many CS you loose/win for it. Especially when we're talking about soloCS!

Aram-ing midlane while creeps die top and bot with noone around to soak both gold and exp, Krugs throwing a party cause noone bothered them for 15 minutes straight? That's how leads are wasted, how games are lost.

Whenever nothing important happens on the map, whenever key-CDs are down, whenever someone gets caught and you have to surrender an objective - DON'T DESPERATELY TRY TO MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN! FARM!

i win games in high diamond as malphite and my cs is pretty horrible, mostly because i get zoned in lane or go for stupid plays, but i win and i feel like cs is irrelevant, as long as i last hit the minions that i can.

That's around 6 per minute, which is...fine for silver.

Higher CS is generally good (Exceptions for support and potentially for jungle), though, so getting a better CS/m would be good.

Maybe shoot for 8CS/m?

CS is more of a per game basis. Usually a better way to know how you are doing is compare directly with your laning opponent. About 13 cs equates to a kill so just taking the difference is essentially adding to your KDA for how fed you are. In top lane you can freeze the lane hard against a melee champion to basically make it so they don't get to play the game. The worst example of this I have from recent games is when I had 79 cs against a Nasus with 19 cs at one point in the linked game. Things in top lane are much different than in mid though because most middle laners can easily break a freeze, the lane is shorter putting you at less risk to attempt breaking the freeze, and generally pushing and roaming is a better way to make use of a lead.

Contrary to what others may say, don’t focus on CS. CS is important, but what does it mean?

If you’ve ever seen a smurf have super high CS and be like wow I need to get more CS. Well, the smurf isnt fed because of high CS. He’s fed because he’s doing well, outplaying hos opponents amd getting an advantage. That advantage leads to him having more breathing room to counterjungle/ steal the opponents jungle camps uncontested, therefore leading to high CS.

In LCS, pros get like 10 cs a minute because theres almost no fighting.

In SoloQ, you would be hardoressed to even get 8 cs a minute, simply due to the nature of how often ppl fight in game.

Don’t focus on killing minions to get fed. Make sure you can find a way to give yourself more breathing space so that you can farm better. Whether that calls for asking help from your jungler or killing your lane opponent.

Im only Gold 2 right now, I can average around 6-7 a minute on a average game. I main Zed/Cass so its pretty easy to get high cs. But if Im facing a really hard matchup like me as Zed vs Cass, I will probably be down 20-30cs by 10 minutes. So it really depends on the matchup too.

7-8 per minute is "good CS" below Challenger.

A general idea that I like to do if im playing carry is 200 by 25 minutes. Meaning roughly 180-200 by 20 minutes.

EDIT: if im not completely dumpstered.

Irrelevant question. Every game is different. You just farm as much as you can.
