There's a real problem with a game when it takes a whole summer to get one champion. I remember back in S5 when I REALLY wanted to try Aatrox. Three months later, I FINALLY had 6300 IP, no runes, and no rune pages. I got into a game and BAM. It's Aatrox. I had NO way of trying the champion because A: He sucks and B: he's never free. This was a rare case where I actually still wanted the champion by the time I had the IP for him. RITO plz either let us try champs (not rentals) or reduce the grind.

you can always go for the refund.

and 6300 IP are not that hard to farm.

i mean, i'm sitting here with 20k+ IP and don't know what do do with it.

What if I used my refunds on Annie and Yi when I was new? What if I haven't been playing every day and play on the weekends like most sensible people have time for. What if my mains and their runes are expensive?

then you still have 1 refund left.

and usually you buy a champion, and when you have mastered that champ you'll have more than enough IP to buy and master a new one.

Nobody has refunds left. Stop trying to justify how stupid Riot's system is. I'm damn sure you've bought at least one champion then decided that it was a bad choice after a game or two.

it's not stupid actually.

i mean, what would players do that actively play the game every day? they would overflow with ip and it would be worthless.

maybe a free one week trial that isn't tied to Hextech Crafting would actually be a better idea than the Free Week. but tbh, i don't see any issues with the system.

i mean, you can always look for a champion guide before purchasing and look if the champion suits you.

There is this think called researching what you want to buy. I fell for the exact same trap, trust me, I was pretty devastated, but I learned from it and I research the things i want to get in video games before I spend months trying to grind for them.

Riot should take a page from other mobas and make it so that all champions are free in bots. It's not just about trying out champs you want to buy either, it's also to learn how to play against them by understanding hands-on how they work.

There's no justification for locking champions in bot games.

3 months for 6.3k? That's 90 days, you get 80 - 100 ip on average per game. So you only played around 60 - 80 games in 90 days.

I spent 116 days on league of hours. and I only got 3 rune pages. but I have most champions. still like a year before I get all champs most likely. yeah it takes a while.
