The 3/2 annie with 75 cs at 2 shots you, wow great designing riot, plus tibbers procs ludens and is basically thornmail and just hits you for 200 dmg each hit.

wow, i could guess that you have no mr or very little. lots of champs can burst you if you don't build right vs them.

I think it's more of the fact that Annie 's burst also comes with an almost 2 second stun where the only real counterplay to her is either item 3102 which shouldn't be built early on carries or to stay more than 600 units away from her (Or over 1000 units if her flash is up). Most mages can burst you down but most of them don't have a long aoe undodgable stun packed with it that burst and is strong enough to kill you before you even get un-stunned.

And if there are mages that also do that, they usually would have a semi-weak or abusable early lane phase, while Annie can just farm and zone you all lane phase.

annie is strong, but building any mr items helps. you can build item 3001 even if you want. if she could 2 shoot you before, can't anymore once you have that since it will be harder for annie to burst you down. if you are ad, you can build item 3140 into item 3139 . someone like zed, you would need hourglass and same with talon. many champs can burst really fast.

ahri has her champ, syndra has a long ranged stun, and that's just naming two. if they were bursting you, you also would need to build some mr vs them.
