should mage supports cs? when i play mage supports that can clear waves easily like annie, zyra and karma and laning phase is over, i like to go mid to push and take turrets. not sure if i should only last hit minions or push the wave (and get mid laner mad for taking his farm and then he has nothing to farm). i don't need farm i just want to do objectives and want to know what is supposed to be the right way. thanks
even if you're a tank support, pushing out lanes or defending towers isn't something people should be whining about
and you kinda have to kill minions to do those things
if nobody else is there take the CS. If you're ADC is there trying to farm then no don't clear the wave.

Don't steal CS, don't push other's people lanes if they didn't ask you to do it. I often see my teammates mindlessly push my lanes or take my farm while i've been there freezing my lane for a specific reason.
it's all about knowing WHEN to clear waves and take farm, for instance if the enemy adc backs and your adc isn't around, go ahead and quickly push the wave to tower, it causes the enemy to lose a full wave of farm, gives you a nice exp boost,enemy takes tower damage, and resets the lane, and if nobody else is around to, always take last hits for the gold, there is no reason not to. Anyone complaining about you last hitting minions in their lane while they are away is a total moron and deserves the Bronze 5 trophy they'll have by the end of the season.
This isn't just a support thing either, all lanes and jungler should know when to push and when to let the lane push to them. It's all about the gold, keep the farm in your teams favor and prioritize heavily item dependent champions getting the gold whenever possible.
