I'm not a regular on the Gameplay boards, but I noticed a trend.

Any post to do with balance has negative votes and negative comments attached. Only because one player complained that means they're wrong because they're outnumbered. The point is not to be right or wrong, but to get different views from a variety of players and be open to understand what makes a champioin feel unfair.

So if you see a post where a guy says "urgots passive is broke" don't just downvote because you outnumber them which makes them worthless in opinions, that's a fallacy and you should avoid that.

The ideas of your message aren't wrong, but threads where one player gets his arse handed to him and then he comes out and complains about a champion are rarely constructive and generally rightfully so criticized

What if you feel he has provided no reasoning for his opinion and only seems to be writing it in frustration at being owned by some really good Urgot player who got fed? Poor post gets downvoted. People downvote for silly reasons of course, but if you feel a post was made poorly, lacking critical information or thought, and only lays out an opinion with no reasoning behind it, that's a good enough reason to downvote, yeah? It's about quality too, not just disagreeing. But I know what you're saying, I'm sure some people downvote purely because they disagree.

Then he can go right ahead, if you had a bad game and are mad at something in balance; tell Riot. It's information that feeds us on what feels unfair. You also say quality but there are loads of posts here with decent explanations behind an argument that are downvoted just because other people who play different champions don't have a problem with that one thing. So even if he is mad and he lost, it's still not a bad post because it explains what makes people hate the game and gives Riot an idea of what not to do. Even if it is just "Shaco's boxes are op pls nerf those angry %%%%crates".

Of course you can downvote posts that aren't quality, in that case, just downvote literally everything! Go right ahead because the boards contain a solid 0% quality. Posts are filled with useless information, bad jokes, self promotion, arrogance, inflated sense of importance, and the likes (except for Riot update posts because they're pretty decent). Just look at the "Hot" section, you won't even find quality there.

Basically, the boards are not a place to care about quality, just info. Especially the memes & games section ;). Idc if they spent 30 mins making a meme that's pretty decently edited, chances are it's just a recycled joke for the 100th time but directed at League instead.

But if it's an unpopular opinion, shouldn't it be downvoted so that people at least know it's not how most others feel? If it's about information and what is affecting the community and how, don't downvotes serve that purpose? If we just leave everyone's opinion out there as equal, Riot might take that information and make implementations in the game based on them. So if it's not how most people feel, we should downvote it, so that Riot knows it's not a popular opinion and they shouldn't take it as Something to base updates on.
