She was designed as a Mage/Fighter.
There isn't an assassin that has a pull. She also lacks an escape. Not an assassin.
More of a diver than an assassin.
When Riot made her they thought of her as being unique as an assassin/fighter hybrid without realizing that a bunch of fighters were already like that to the point where they deserved to be considered their own class.

Sorry everyone, Ashe is a fighter. No other Marksman has a non-conditional stun.
Well she was originally meant to be an ap bruiser the problem is people realized that building glass cannon AP on her and 1 shoting people was more viable. Now she's basically an assassin.
