Riot and the community are having the wrong discussion about towers.

I love the creativity and awesomeness Riot puts into most of the features of this game. I think that the last two seasons really showed how well they do with comming up with good ideas. The jungle is awesome now, they have different plants that give different bonuses, they added a bunch of cool drakes, they added rift Harold. They did a lot. They basically took the jungle and asked how can we make this really interesting/interactive.

I think the question for towers should be "how to we make towers interesting, unique, and a fun part of the game" rather than "are the towers of appropriate strength?" Make each tower unique and be strong/weak against certain types of champions. Maybe make a tower that is weak against "strong" (high health champions like chogath, mundo, braum, ect.) Then make one that is stong against split pushing. One that is deadly in short range, so that long range champions are needed to take it down, ect. Make them not boring and generic.

No. You can't make everything unique, some things need to be basic. Towers aren't meant to be a fun part of the game that is variable. They're a main objective.

actually it would be kinda neat to see some sort of melee range aoe attack from the tower (probably just tier one turrets) to attempt to prevent early turret dives/snowballing.
