Runes situation.

So I have been playing league for the last 3 years. And I have just mostly ignored buying runes. Mostly because my main goal was getting every champion in the game. I am nearing that goal (only 12 more champs to go!). And the looming chaos that is Runes is nearing closer. I have been making do with tier one runes and have started looking into the tier 3 runes. I saw a post that Riot are going to be reworking the Rune system and was wondering if I should just save my IP until the rework or just buy the runes now. It looks like I should save up my IP for the rework just in case the prices of runes are reduced.

Well first off, Tier 1 Runes are absolutely terrible because your opponents will not be using them. There is no reason you should be level 30 and not pick up the discounted T3 Runes, which include a pretty standard set of AD and AP.

Secondly, Tier 2 Runes have all been reduced to 1 IP each. If you need anything outside the discounted T3 Runes but are still saving up, you can fill it with T2 Runes for the time being.

As for getting your remaining T3 Runes now or after you have all the champions, I'd recommend filling out some basic Rune pages first, the ones that you use most often. This shouldn't take too long, you don't need 10 different Rune pages if you aren't being picky.
