With autofill what is the point of picking the two roles you WANT TO PLAY!?
I cannot play bottom lane at all, I dont like it, and im just awful at it, so why am i FORCED to dodge games or get flamed by teammates for not being able to play the role i was FORCED to play?
I definitely agree. Autofill is pretty cancer. I've lost 100% of my autofill support games. It's so bad that I have a 30 min timer now on queue dodge. Still better than sitting through a 30 minute loss autofilled to support.
If people stop dodging and more people are willing to play support, then Autofill will go. Until then, you have to deal with it. Hell, anyone who's played before 2015 didn't get their roles because role pick wasn't a thing when pick order determined where you played. They dealt with it, and enjoyed their games, unlike these whiny people who have a meltdown the moment they can't play top or mid.
Autofill? Not getting your primary role? What is this madness? Why have I not heard of this?
No offense, but the primary complainers I've seen are people forced into the support role.
I know this won't solve the issue of autofill, but why can't people just learn how to support? If more people played support, it wouldn't be autofilled into as much.

...Seriously? I really don't find support 2 hard even if you don't like it. Stick to your adc and ward .-. It's ranked, what did you expect.
Play a game of support and you are guaranteed your role for 2-3 games. Remember queueing for support a day ago and got my roles a few games with no autofills.
I cant say that autofill is totally a bad idea. My only gripe with it is that it affects all plays of different ELOs. For Master and Challenger ranked players it does make a significant difference in their queue times. But why in the hell do we need it for platinum and below, especially bronze? A bronze wait time for me is about 1-3 minutes (depending on the role selected). All autofill did was shave off a minute of queue time for these ranked players, but shaved off a lot more for players of higher ELO.
Get autofill the hell out of normals and ranked below D5 pls
Whereas I can relate to this, ranked was exactly like this 2 seasons ago for the most part. Due to the cuchyness of last season, we've become lax and unskilled.
No because eventually all you people who dodge will be banned and then there will be no one left to complain about having to play an off role for 1 out 10+ games.
If there's a problem then deal with it and learn the role. If you cannot play more than two roles you shouldn't be playing ranked.
The two role system was a flawed concept to begin with that never met the needs of the player base, but offered them the illusion of fulfilling their desires. It was doomed to failure from the beginning. It can never offer players the control over their role that Team Builder offered and it can never satisfy a solo queue that needs players to fill all the roles. Normal draft is supposed to be a close mimic to ranked queues so it can't be different in such a fundamental way. These are simple realities that you need to learn to embrace.
As for autofill, RIOT ought to drop autofill protection and give players the capability to customize their ALL their role preferences (not just the top two).
auto fill should be changed to support role only. This way every one can practice 2 support champs and get good at them and not worry too much about it.
Recently started ranking for season 7. Played with autofill on, luckily got my first role, always. I'm honest, if I got anything else of the 2 roles picked, I'd be very mad and probably tilted. I'd probably go feed.
Autofill is supposed to help fill in voids in team compositions first, and also try to broaden your horizons to other lanes as a secondary benefit. It sure as hell isn't made to force players to dodge, that's something you're doing voluntarily to avoid playing something else. I personally enjoy autofill, and having to dip into each role and get better at them. Sure, I may suck at them, but I don't care if other players are going to flame me when I know I need to get better, and am improving.
