Can we just give Zed Mana instead of Energy?

So people can stop and I can go back to playing him in ranked again?

You realize that would make Zed stronger

Void Nargacuga2 votes

So that others can know why: item 3042 + item 3025 + Living Shadow passive: Bonus AD Increase: 4 / 8 / 12 / 16 / 20% bonus AD

ModWulf Helhammer2 votes

And that he wouldn't be limited in spamming. Once he got enough CDR, he wouldn't be stopped by a low energy pool

Void Nargacuga2 votes

That too. My god if people complained now... Imagine what it would be like if they actually changed him over to mana and he had 45% CDR with such a stupidly large mana pool to work with... [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Yeah I don't want that to happen. And I play Zed because he is fun to play for me and I oh so enjoy making squishies go "POP'. I could care less if he gets nerfed. I probably still play him.

No, it wouldn't. It'd crush his laning phase, gut his ability to snowball, force him to buy weaker items, and give him a trivial bonus in late game spam that any mage can already do.

So now apparently Manamune is a weaker item and only gives trivial late game bonus....then what exactly that Zed would build?

WalkingInACircle1 votes

Yeah, Manamune is a lot weaker than other AD options that don't spend gold on mana.

Manamune gives mana, it also gives AD + more AD based on your maximum mana pool, and refunds 15% of mana spent on spells. Once it changes to item 3042 It gains the Shock passive.

Unique – Shock: Single target abilities and basic attacks on Champions (on-hit) consume 3% of current mana to deal 6% of current mana as physical damage. This effect only activates while you have greater than 20% maximum Mana.

Grab a item 3025 and now he has an additional 1500 mana to work with, that then gets added onto how much more bonus AD he gains from the Awe passive of Muramana. And if his kit was adjusted to work with mana instead without changing certain effects of how his Living Shadows work then every time he hits someone with 2+ Shurikens/Shadow Slashs then he would GAIN MANA BACK! And he gets mana back from the Awe passive as well.

Living Shadow also gives him extra Bonus AD based on his bonus AD... Think about that too. Now how much base mana would he have? Lets just say he has the same lvl 18 base amount as Talon which is 1006. He gets an extra 1500 from building item 3042 and item 3025 . He now has 2506 max mana. He gets 50.12 bonus AD just from the Awe passive of Murmana. He also builds items like these: item 3147 item 3071 item 3156 item 3142 . And at level 18 his base AD is 113. Let me do the math just for bonus AD from items and from Muramana's passive: +310 Bonus AD

Now from his Living Shadow's Passive at max rank it gives him a Bonus AD Increase of 20%. Lets calculate that shall we? 62 extra bonus AD from Living Shadow. Hopefully I did this part correctly! Someone correct me if I did it wrong!

Total AD: 473 AD. He also has a base of 86.4 Armor, add on IBG and now he has 151 armor (!), and with Maw and his base level 18 stats he has 93.4 MR. He also has 40% CDR (and probably excess due to the build). And then there is the extra damage from Muramana's Shock being added onto the damage he is dealing... I don't even want to think of that.

NOTE: All calculations where done without runes/masteries taken into account.

EDIT: Almost forgot that item 3025 has a spellblade passive as well! Which states:

Unique – Icy Zone: Deals 100% base attack damage as bonus physical damage to all units within the area of effect and slows them by 30%.

And what do you replace item 3025 with?

Me personally I prefer item 3812 over item 3072 since Death's Dance lets me heal of my spells which is his main source of damage, gives me the same amount of AD, CDR, and can even reduce damage I take if someone tries to burst me down by turning 15% of it into a DoT tick instead.

Nah, I think other AD assassins should be given energy instead of mana; like Talon, or Kha.

That would increase the ban pool, and therefore Zed may not be as worthy to be banned.

Powercreep is the way forward, not powerseep.

TehNACHO1 votes

Tbh Kha'Zix isn't the worst candidate for not having mana.

Buff Jax please1 votes

Giving Talon energy would make him useless because he couldn't combo.

Very Hard Engage2 votes

that only depends on energy costs and or energy refunds on autos.

Oleandervine2 votes

I agree. Energy is just a dead resource that is constantly being problematic for the game.

Narvuntien1 votes

Or increase his energy costs so it actually limits him.
