Here is a list of every Patch Note Yasuo has been part of...

  • 3.15 Added.

  • 4.1 ##Way of the Wanderer (Passive Bug Fix) The 10% damage penalty now applies to Statikk Shiv ##Steel Tempest (Q Bug Fix) Third cast is now automatically smart cast (as with the first and second cast). Improved reliability of the Sweeping Blade combo. ##Wind Wall (W Bug Fix) No longer blocks friendly Dark Spheres. ##Last Breath (R Buff/Bugfix) Now grants maximum Flow on cast. Spell animation shortened by 0.1 seconds. Now less likely to follow targets using Flash. The cooldown is now appropriately tracked for the purposes of spectator mode and the interface.

  • 4.2 ##Resource Nerf Flow generation reduced to 1% per 46 units from 1% per 40 units. ##Steel Tempest (Q QoL) Now displays a maximum range indicator while the third cast is available. ##Wind Wall (W Nerf) Bonus flow generated on Sweeping Strike reduced to 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 / 15% from 4 / 8 / 12 / 16 / 20%. ##Last Breath (R Nerf) Range reduced to 1200 from 1300.

  • 4.3 ##Way of the Wanderer (Passive Nerf) Shield duration reduced to 1.5 seconds from 2. Shield strength reduced to [60 – 470] from [60 – 690].

  • 4.5 ##Stat Buff Base armor increased to 19 from 15.

  • 4.11 ##Sweeping Blade (E Nerf) Bonus damage cap reduced to 50% at 2 stacks from 100% at 4 stacks.

  • 4.12 ##Sweeping Blade (E Bugfix) Fixed a bug where the ability sometimes didn't count as a spellcast.

  • 4.13 ##Way of the Wanderer (Passive Nerf) Shield duration reduced to 1 second from 1.5. ##Steel Tempest (Q Nerf & Bugfix) Cooldown reduction from attack speed reduced. Minimum cast time increased to 0.18 seconds from 0.13. Attack speed needed to achieve minimum cast time unchanged (+114%, or +60% from items at level 18). Fixed a bug where Steel Tempest's whirlwind was dealing instant damage in the area of a normal Steel Tempest cast as it was traveling out. ##Wind Wall (W Passive Removed) No longer passively grants bonus Flow from dashing.

  • 4.17 ##Steel Tempest (Q Nerf/Bugfix) Fixed a bug where Steel Tempest was put on a shorter cooldown if cast in conjunction with Sweeping Blade.png Sweeping Blade.

  • 4.18 ##Stats Nerf Base health lowered to 462 from 512. Base movement speed lowered to 340 from 350.

  • 4.21 ##Stats Buff Movement speed increased to 345 from 340. ##Steel Tempest (Q Buff) Cooldown reduced to 4 seconds from 5 / 4.75 / 4.5 / 4.25 / 4 seconds at all ranks.

  • 5.8 ##Way of the Wanderer (Passive Buff) Flow capacity increased to 「 100 – 510 」 from 「 60 – 470 」. Flow generation reduced at early ranks to per 59 / 52 / 46 units traveled from 46 at all levels.

  • 5.14 ##Steel Tempest (Q Bugfix/Buff) Fixed a bug where the third cast wasn't applying on-hit effects.

  • 6.1 ##Wind Wall (W Bugfix/Buff) Fixed a bug where certain targeted abilities (such as Twisted Fate's Pick A Card.png Pick A Card) would pass through Wind Wall as it spawned.

  • 6.14 ##Bugfixes Fixed a bug where Yasuo could be locked out of his basic attack after casting Sweeping Blade.png Sweeping Blade or Last Breath.png Last Breath. Fixed a bug where Steel Tempest wasn't always critically striking when Yasuo had 100% crit chance. Wind Wall no longer fails to block projectiles in the instant it was cast, if cast at the same time Yasuo died. Fixed a bug where Sweeping Blade could be chain-cast on multiple targets without cooldown or cast time if cast while knocked up.

  • 6.16 ##Sweeping Blade (E Bugfix) Grasp of the Undying's cooldown no longer refreshes when Yasuo attempts (and fails) to cast Sweeping Blade on a target he recently dashed through.

  • 6.17 ##Last Breath (R Bugfix) Fixed a bug where Yasuo's first basic attack after Last Breath was delayed if it was a critical strike.

  • 6.18 ##Stat changes Base attack speed increased to 0.67 from 0.658. Attack speed growth reduced to 2.5% from 3.2%. ##Last Breath (R Nerf) Bonus armor penetration now only applies to Yasuo's critical strikes. Fixed a bug that allowed Yasuo to get an extra basic attack when casting Last Breath.

  • 6.21 ##Steel Tempest (Q QoL) Fixed pixelation on the max range indicator of PROJECT: Yasuo's third Steel Tempest cast.

  • 6.22 ##Visual QoL BUG FIX: PROJECT: Yasuo's basic attack animations have been adjusted to visually slash the target at the same time damage is applied, rather than slightly after.

  • 6.24 ##Last Breath (R Bugfix) Launching yourself or an ally into the air via Blast Cone no longer counts as an enemy displacement effect for the purposes of an active enemy Last Breath airborne check. In other words, you'll pass through Last Breath rather than getting stuck in it.

For those not keeping track, he has had 15 Bugfixes, 6 Buffs, and 11 nerfs along with his W passive being removed. (It used to grant extra Flow by using E.)

Just letting you all know that he has indeed had nerfs. Apologies in advance in case there are errors here, I got hit with a nasty cold.

"hurdurdur why is janna immune to nerfs"

if people actually bothered doing research they'd know janna is the most nerfed champion in the game

Immune to nerfs can mean two very different things.

It can mean "never gets nerfed", and it can mean "Damn, this champion keeps getting nerfed and still seems to be performing about as well. Weird."

Danjeng2 votes

Janna has ben nerfed a lot. But when they say immune to nerfs, they mean that the nerfs hardly effect her. It's because she has so much utility, she's not just a stat stick. You can nerf her numbers, no problem, but she still grants MS to her team mates, and displace enemies.

Lauchmelder1 votes

She might be the most nerfed, but not Azir level "we didn't fix the bug but removed the bugged function instead"

And? Are we all suppose to say "omg, he got nerfed he is no longer cancer so riot please don't touch him and we'll all stop banning him"?

TyrekGoldenspear10 votes

No, you're supposed to stop your... Hyperbolic statements that he is never nerfed and adapt your playstyle because he is built the way he is to be a melee carry. (You in this case is a general you, not you specifically.)

Sorry but your thread isn't gonna change anyone's mind about cancer

TyrekGoldenspear8 votes

That may be true, but facts win out over emotions every time.

In arguments anyway. In practice that hardly matters because people will ban regardless.

Even if I changed one person's mind, I consider my mission complete. I made this thread for that one person. It just may not be you.

The point isn't that Yasuo isn't cancer/broken/overpowered/whatever. The point is that Yasuo has been nerfed in the past, and thus he's not immune to nerfs as many claim.

Yes, he had nerfs in the past, but, the nerfs had no significant impact on him, and he's still as obnoxious as ever, only ever slightly switching builds. It's not like popping in and popping out like a lot of "meta ADCs" (Jhin, Luc, MF), he stays in the meta. Same with Janna.

Either rework them(Yas's case yes, since even when he's extremely non-meta(jugg season) he's still obnoxious) or nerf them more.

issue is, he pretends yasuo has always been op, when in fact there was a large period of time inbetween s4 and 5 he was almost azir tier.

Troll for Trump1 votes

But there wasn't. There weren't any "weak" periods for Yasuo, in the way that it has for other champs. He was playable at any time, just not FoTM. Lee was in the same boat.

No, he was legit garbage, the thing with champs like lee yasuo, is that its irrelevant their strenght, they always have a dedicated playerbase, just look at lucian, nobody can deny he is fucking garbage, yet he has one of the highest playratios as adc, back in s5 when he was known as loosecian, he was the 3rd most played, right behind jinx and vayne who are by themselves popular adc and op at the time.

Yas between 4.18 and 5.8 he was siting at an awesome 43% winrate, same as current kalista, who everyone bitch about being weak. People can circlejerk as much as they want, yeh sure he is annoying, and overpowered if you want to, but no, he wasnt always good.

theres no point, the champion should either be reworked or nerfed to the point where he is almost unplayable,if you want to play yasuo do what they all do play normals, keep this aids out of ranked games.

TyrekGoldenspear3 votes

I've only touched Yas once mate, and that was in One For All because my teammates thought we would be stupid OP. It didn't work out.

I have no interest in playing Yas, this is just providing information. Adapt your playstyle and you'll be fine.

Troll for Trump2 votes

The issue is when the adaptations don't work. Yas can just adapt to your adaptations, and you can't respond to those, as, unlike Yas, you are more restricted by your champ.

The matchups depend on how good the Yasuo is.

This is true for all champs, but more evident in champs such as Yasuo(Riven,Vayne, Lee Sin, Ekko, etc.) For many of those champs, the difference between a good and bad player is only to the extremes. The middle line is almost nonexistant. Either useless or overbearing, and that usually depends on how good of a Yas player that person is.

If it's a bad Yas, the adapting works.

Good yas, it doesn't.

One of the reasons for this gap in the results from varying skill levels is due to the overloaded nature of Yasuo's kit.

When Ysuo was released I was like "Good Luck Balancing a manaless + free stats passive + shield" and more nerfs are coming to him But in all idea, Yasuo needs to be reworked. Riot before releasing champs need to ask themselves the following question:

IF THIS CHAMPION BECOMES EXTREMELY TOXIC, DO WE HAVE THE CORRECT TOOLS TO BALANCE IT ?

Laxfan522 votes

He has been nerfed a lot but right now he is too strong and I don't want to play against him so I will still perma ban him.

MunchCrunchLunch2 votes

yasuo has too much potential to win over you. there has to be a limit to what a champion can do. yasuo's limit is a little too far tho. way too far. same can be said about vayne. imagine if lee sin was a hypercarry without energy

Lord Discord1 votes

he needs more nerfs add a 10 sec overall cd to his e so he cant spam it

winteriscoming971 votes

So basically in the last 3 years, he lost 5 ms, has lower overall flow regen, shield got reduced by 1 sec, q cd increased slightly, health decreased by 54, and ult became 100 units shorter and changed to on crit effect.

Doesn't look too bad, but it is obviously not enough.

Edit: Actually, Yasuo is pretty easy to deal with. I would like to see Darius reworked , however, the unstoppable machine.

vampirekid131 votes

He hasn't had enough news to make him balanced yet

Nameless Voice1 votes

Sounds like he's had a lot of balance changes because Riot have trouble working out how to balance him given his current kit. Also, he's had a lot of bugs.
