CDR runes feel awkard

Today I was fiddling with different rune builds and I realized CDR runes are very awkward if your heading towards reaching cap. Flat runes give 7.5% that does not actually help you since all items give multiples of 10%. On the other hand scaling gives you 15% with no ability to fill that last 5% unless you invest deep in to the Cunning tree. Even if you invest deep in the cunning tree you need an additional 5% CDR from somewhere to finish the 45%. I wish there was a way to use flat CDR runes or even Scaling but with the way CDR itemization and the Mastery trees they just feel so terrible. Please don't suggest running a mix of flat/scaling CDR because that actually feels even worse. The only good solution I have is run 10% from scaling and use the rest of the rune spots for something else.

Is there any plans in the near future to patch up the CDR runes? Because at the moment they just feel so terrible with the rest of the CDR itemization.

i think its outdated design from when there were multiple items that granted 15% cdr, and randuins with 5%. youre right, while you can just go for 10% with the scaling runes, it makes flat cdr runes really awkward.

Just add a CDR/lvl quint. 20% from runes and 20% from item 3174 oritem 3165. Problem solved.

Quints + Glyphs = 30% CDR at level 18. Add Ionian Boots or some other 10% CDR item and you have 40% (or 45% with the mastery).

You can get 10% flat cdr with 9 Glyphs and one Quint. Or six Glyphs and two Quints. That's a lot of Runepage though.

What do you dislike with the 6/3 flat/scaling setup? I use it alot.

Also sometiems I use 1 flat Quint, 3 flat Glyphs, 3 scaling Glyphs, to make room for three MR Glyphs.

This actually feels very good to me, cause there are a lot of option to adjust it exactly how i want.

I can't agree more. Revert Ionian Boots to 15% please.

You can use quints for CDR too. One quint offers the same flat CDR/scaling CDR as 3 glyphs.

Or just buff them up to 10/20% for flat and scaling.

The game could use some more attractive caster-y options that aren't flat AP.

That's what you're supposed to do.

Or you can not care that there's an extra 5% for the scaling and make it so that U hit CDR cap by level 12 instead of 18...

Treid 10% flat-scaling (full glyphs 1 quint), and it's actually pretty good. I play burst champs mostly so I'm usually in the Cunning tree, so I'm sitting with 15% CDR level 1. I can 1st back Ekko and get sheen and I then have 25%.

It sounds like you are only looking at glyphs or only looking at quints. You should be able to get 15% flat cdr from glyphs + quints or 30% scaling cdr from glyphs + quints. This means that with a combination of glyphs and quints you can get 10% flat cdr or 10%, 20%, or 30% scaling cdr, as well as some variations, like 5% flat cdr and 5% scaling cdr for 5% cdr at level 1 and 10% at level 18. Decide how much cdr you want and then pick glyphs and/or quints to fill the spots you don't need for cdr.

Most people don't run full CDR, they get enough to get 5% CDR and then get MR per level.

Chicken4dinner11/30/2015, 9:18:57 AM1 votes

I get 15% with flat runes, because I don't just invest in quints.

Scaling blues+quints and Ionian boots?
