How are LeBlanc, Gnar and Ekko doing right now? I haven't played in a whole year.

Hi guys, so, my mains used to be LeBlanc (Almost 100K mastery points compared to my second most, Riven, with almost 40K) , Riven, Gnar and Ekko.

How much have they changed since I left? I stopped playing right after Mid Season Magic came out, I literally only played one game with the new Cassiopeia and then stopped until now (Some friends asked me to play recently).

I would love if someone could tell me the most important changes since I left, but, since that's probably kind of hard, I would like someone to explain to me these four things:

  1. How does LeBlanc's rework work exactly? Her W's damage looks too low to be honest. Is she still the early game beast she used to be?
  2. What the hell is lethality?
  3. Is Ekko still being played as a tank or is he being played as an assassin now with the AP Items changes?
  4. Do I have to change my masteries and runes?
  5. What am I supposed to build with Gnar now? Just like before or...?

Thanks guys!

Gnar hasn't really changed. Leblanc got reworked- was completely OP, and has now eaten 3 consecutive nerfs. The latest, on the most recent patch, was the nail in the coffin. She's gutted now. Riven is the same toxic shit stain she's always been. Ekko is being played mid as an assassin/fighter. Can still jungle, but tank build isn't good anymore.

  1. How does LeBlanc's rework work exactly? Her W's damage looks too low to be honest. Is she still the early game beast she used to be? The biggest change LeBlanc experienced was her passive. Now her spells apply a mark that takes a little bit of time to develop, and if she hits an ability on an enemy with a charged mark it deals bonus damage. One e can apply and detonate this mark, so hitting early chains can essentially win you the lane. Unfortunately, she was just nerfed because her laning phase was significantly stronger than it was pre-rework, and her damage output was higher because of her passive. Now, she's kind of lackluster, but some mains have still found success on her.
  2. What the hell is lethality? Lethality is the new armor pen. It's weaker early game and scales with your opponent's level. It starts out at 60% efficiency I think, and slowly increases to 100% as your opponent grows to level 18.
  3. Is Ekko still being played as a tank or is he being played as an assassin now with the AP Items changes? I've seen both builds recently, but full AP is more popular atm. Tank was nerfed quite a bit, but it's still occasionally played because he has the utility to support it.
  4. Do I have to change my masteries and runes? Lethality items were just nerfed, so full lethality pages are less effective now. Your old runes should work fine. As for masteries, many have stayed the same. Courage of the Colossus was nerfed quite a bit, so it's generally only taken on tanks and supports now. Gnar is still decent with Fervor, although I also like Thunderlord's situationally.
  5. What am I supposed to build with Gnar now? Just like before or...? Black Cleaver was just changed to a more tank oriented item, so it's even better on Gnar than before. The core build Gnar is usually tank items+ Black Cleaver and Frozen Mallet (if needed). Gnar isn't in the same spot he was a year ago, and his winrate has dropped to 46% in plat+ games. I've still been doing fine with him, though, just remember to rush a Warden's or Spectre's in tough AD and AP matchups.

Leblanc got a noticeable nerf this patch but the few times i played her so far since then i feel she's still very capable. Tbh i actually like the changes they made on her this patch with respect to more manageable waveclear. Ahhh gnar <3. Well he still is decent but the current meta of toplane makes things difficult. And with lethality i struggle to be tanky enough in the event of enemy adc being too fed to keepbup with. Still though i love playing him but breaks my heart busting my ass and playing fairly decent only to take a loss :(. I can only pick gnar when i know their toplane pick already or i just get hard countered and hate my life for 20- 45min. I cant say much personally of ekko. Not my type of champ and not played as him once yet. I see him randomly in ranked though. Not as op as he was last season but still can be an asset to the team for sure

Le bl was broken since rework for lilke 6 patches straight You came on a patch she got gutted. She curently has 38% winrate globaly

She is utterly useless before 20 minutes. And even then she can no longer Perform good aoe Damage so she ll be less useful then an average mage late

Only way you can win with Le bl is if jungler camps your lane while you are getting stomped by an enemy midlaner and then if you can get some kills you can potentionaly carry

Gnar is fine. Farming with him is still a bit annoying but he is fine. Not considered a meta pick because there are better ranged toplaners (Jayce) Because its hard to bully anything with him

Ekko was never in a good spot. His entire kit is to delayed and telegraphed. You ll never get a good ulti off if you are high elo But if he somehow gets fed to the point where he doesnt need ultimate he is good

Riven is in great spot has been consistently for months

Ekko is in the best place out of the 3, so good right now.

Gnar is getting buffs and is actually decent with the new Black Cleaver.

Leblanc got hard nerfs and was never good

was never good? do you just play bad with her or were you afk for these past 6 patches lol

Gnar is basically the same as release. In terms of masteries and runes for him, Courage of the Colossus and Grasp are better for a more tanky build, but Fervor works pretty well on him. Item build hasn't changed much.

Leblanc is more of a kite mage/assassin hybrid now. While she still can deal tons of damage, she rules the early game more through her great waveclear, followed by easy roams. In terms of masteries, Thunderlords is still the best. Items haven't changed all that much for her.

Ekko is not played as a tank, very often. Riot nerfed that playstyle pretty heavily. You can still do it if you want, but I wouldn't recommend it. Masteries, Thunderlords is pretty good, and his build may incorporate Protobelt, but its still largely the same.

Lethality is flat armor pen, under a different name. It scales with champion level, and for a while, was extremely busted. Jhin would oneshot, MF would oneshot, Talon would oneshot, Pantheon would oneshot, etc. Since then, Lethality has been nerfed, and its severe outliers, were nerfed as well.

So... could you give me a rune page for Gnar? Are all of the runes still the same? Could you check my runes and tell me if they are okay?

I don't have many rune pages, so I stick to a more generalists AD page, but for Gnar, I've seen people normally go: AD Reds, AS Quints, MR Blues, then splitting Yellows between health and AR.

Ekko is okayish. Gnar is sort of weird/sub-par as of now, but not too bad. LeBlanc got nerfed into garbage.
