Ward-Hop: How does a game make global changes and allow certain champions to benefit more from them?

Elise LeeSin Katarina Jax should not be allowed to ward hop to wards placed with the item 3340 only those placed by item 2049 or item 2055

item 3340 was a global change to allow everyone to participate in vision.

Ahri This is cool Soraka Yeah, we get 1 free ward. Caitlyn Now we can all participate in the vision game LeeSin Well, this global change enhances my mobility further. Even though we should all benefit from it equally, now I can participate in the vision game but also have a viable escape. I no longer have to build item 2049 or spend gold to buy a item 2055 to ward hop. Ahri None of my spells interact with wards... :/ Soraka I can't heal wards... :/ Caitlyn How is this fair, Lee? LeeSin Riot caters to me. Your elo, my hands.

Minor corrections:

  1. Kat cannot ward-hop anymore.
  2. Elise cannot ward-hop, unless its to an enemy ward I guess.
  3. Jax is the other champ that uses ward-hopping frequently.

Anyway, its hard to make any sort of a global change that doesn't have a skewed impact on at least one champion. Thats why those big changes are usually made when pro-play isn't going. Its almost certain large-scale changes leave at least a couple of champions in a rather unbalanced place.

A way to nerf Lee without destroying him: Safeguard can no longer be used to travel over terrain.

Hits some of his jg movement, puts him more in line with other champs. Q can still be used to go over walls. Hits some of his ganking if he misses Q's. Has to invest flash then ward hop for kick angles when trying to gank over walls, unless he can hit a Q. Even hitting Q, can no longer just safeguard over walls for a quick escape, again needs to invest flash cooldown.

He still has access to plays, but his investment in time and cooldowns is brought more in line with other junglers.

This would destroy his early jungle pressure, which would in fact destroy Lee Sin.

This is absurdly false. The only time Lee needs to safeguard for pressure is when he can't hit a q. He still Q's onto jungle camps. It would hurt some of his invade pressure, but I don't see that as being a core part of him that needs to be heavily maintained.

Lol, do you even know why Lee Sin's early game ganking is so good?

He has high damage, but he actually has very minimal pre-six crowd control for ganks.

His early game ganking is so good because his W's ability to hop over walls means he has nearly unrivaled pathing in the jungle. He can bypass common warding spots very easily by W'ing over the right wall.

Only IIRC Rek'sai really rivals or exceeds his gank pathing.

Also, hurting his invading pressure also hurts his early game, and it is a core part of him. He's an early game pressure jungler who falls off late game.

Anyone with a dash can follow the same gank paths. But often, those dashes are also their only engage, whereas Lee has two (conditional) dashes, with one being among the highest distance non-ult dashes.

Well then maybe they can normalize his power curve with game time instead of having amazing early game pressure and falling off like a rock.

Which would be more or less fine, but the guy I responded to just suggested a nerf, instead of a shifting of his scaling to be less powerful early game but be better as the game goes on.

Also, why are people downvoting my 100% true posts that they aren't intelligent enough to respond to?

Well nerfs of that nature are meant to make his kit balanceable, not necessarily put them in a balanced state alone.

As for the downvotes hell if i know.
