Skarner with his crystals, Mord with his pet lizard, whats next fiiddle gets tombstones that give him a buff?

These things are cute but they distract (IMO) from the game and gameplay. Plus they are harder overall to balance because they are 1 champ focused. How many PBE games were there with skarner/mord before you declared them fit for the real world? I bet not many..

Case in point just played a game, skarner built NO DAMAGE items at all, but managed to roll over people why because now when he is in game you have another worthless (to you) set of objectives to worry about. (Whoppee they give you like 15 gold if you capture them). You just added into the mix a new set of things to be concerned about that have NO value to the other team. Nothing nada...

Just revert your changes, I do it all the time when I make a mistake in programming.,.

making champions more unique is the only way you can make them all viable.

because one champion wont just be a more powerful version of another one. i think theyre going into a similar direction as dota with this game. make every champion op in his own way.

all of these mechanics added. mordes duo laning and pet dragon, garens villain mechanic, fioras ult, skarners pillars. they all give a team an objective to work together and enable the champ to make use of that strength. while these champions all have their own nieche.

in the games ive played, i was happy to leave top lane and enable the pillars for our skarner, so he could invade or clear buffs faster.

before this patch, teamwork was only focused around bot lane and to enable the adc in fights. now if im ahead on garen, and our adc is behind, my team has a reason to enable me to get to the villain and im able to carry instead.

i freaking love it.

I agree with the OP.

Most of these new mechanics are distracting and strange. I like a unique feeling champion, but there are many ways to do it without creating a champion that changes the tempo of the game.

For instance, Yasuo's entire kit was flashy and cool when it came out. It doesn't offer anything extraordinary but it was very unique.

Quinn's "Vault" and bird form were also pretty unique.

Zac's passive / hp resource was unique.

If they would just go back across old champions and modify their abilities to be more playable / unique in their design, they wouldn't have to come up with these ridiculous mini game mechanics to make a champion "viable."

My point is in Skarner's case, the objectives in question give no benefit to the enemy team and all the benefit to Skarner's team.

So you get 15 gold if you capture a point, whoopee!!! IMO it is throws a global objective onto the map that is centric to 1 and only 1 champ. Has no value overall to the game but can affect the game dramatically. It becomes no longer just a fight over dragon/baron as global objectives but now over those plus 6 others on the map. With again no real advantage for claiming them (enemy team) apart from keeping them from Skarner.
