I feel like after a games been out for 8.5 years, they should make it easier to get champions, not harder. Let me say, I love the new runes, and the champion shards is a COOL concept. But the way its working out.. the essense gain just isnt worth it. I'm already lvl 42 and i havnt been able to buy many champs despite playing so many games. Others agree?
I do not like it with a shard, I do not want to buy Urgot, I do not want to even try it, I do not like blue essence, Riot
I mean. It's objectively faster to get champions. It certainly feels slower, but data and math pretty consistently show it's faster now on average as long as you're not one of those people playing 8+ games per day.
Each 40 minute match used to give at least 100IP so it was really easy to get a 6300IP champ after binge playing for awhile. Normal matches to be exact because those are typically longer anyways. I know this by having played over 2000 normal matches already since S2 lol
personally the fact that now the champions you own are almost directly tied to your summoner level will quickly force this game into a pay to win game by making the higher tiered champions harder to get for anyone not able to play more than 1-3 matches a day
