The sylas e change is a massive nerf

There are a few changes to sylas proposed, now for the most part they are "okay" though I honestly don't really like any of them But the e change is an insane nerf and should NOT go live

His passive change so it stacks up to 2 hits is nice....but all it does is lower the difference between a good sylas and a bad one The q is losing some damage in favour of the w getting some healing This is a net loss for sylas as he maxes q first meaning he is losing more flat damage then he is gaining, and be is losi g the ap ratio on the q which he isn't gaining anywhere else AND the q has a lower cd then the w meaning in terms of "effective" numbers the q nerf is WAY bigger then the w buff

As for the e change......oh it's bad The shield is getting slightly bigger, but it applies when he hits E2 instead of on e1 Meaning not only is it becoming massively conditional, on an ability sylas basically already had to land to be able to fight (so if he ever misses his e h is completely done) but it's also applying at a WAY worse time combat speaking The first e is used to dodge damage and close gaps, a shield applying here is useful as it will absorb damage The 2nd e CCs the opponent....so your losing shield effectiveness purely because they can't actually hit you while its up AND if the sylad closes on you with his e your first priority should be to get away...not fight back. Meaning the shield applies at a time when he will be taking less damage ANYWAY

If these changes to live sylas (who is actually a sub 50% champion) will get MUCH weaker then he is now The changes make no sense at all

He shouldn't even have a shield on an ability that already gives him mobility, CC and a gap closer. His kit is too overloaded.

It's the Urgot treatment.

Sylas was able to block poke by using E, without having to commit to a fight. Urgot before his heavy kit adjustments was able to do the same by using his W. Now if you want to block damage, you have to invest your engage as Urgot. Same logic applied there what you pointed out: If Urgot hits you with E, then your enemy is already CCed, meaning you basically lose some of your shield duration in a situation that prevents you getting damaged anyway.

Looking at how Sylas is performing in pro play, maybe it isn't a bad call. It cuts his ability to play it safe and safety is a huge strength for pro play.

Good? Sylas needs some massive work to be the situational pick he is with access to eight (9, if you count passive empowered Autos) abilities in any game. In a perfect world, Sylas canNOT be blind picked because his value should be carried entirely on the backs of Hijacking good Rs.

"Oh they have Sylas, I cant pick Ashe or he'll destroy us. Let's go Jinx or Varus instead." "They got a Soraka and Karthus, take Sylas in any available position so we can use those Ultis."

Speaking from pro play perspective of course.

As for his E change, it makes more sense for the Shield to be on his engage tool. If he lands the E on a champion hes going to need the shield a lot more than on his free dash.

So you have to land your kit to get the benefits of it. I don’t see a problem here. :/

Sounds to me like they should do it like they do lux and split the shield between both casts, tbh. It fits him thematically anyway - he stole magic from lux.

Good, that's how it should be!

Do you know how much free stats he gets?

Let's compare him to another fighter champion like Jarvan shall we?

Q Spell

Jarvan - Single poke (a knock up skill shot if he uses his E and aims his Q at it). Sylas - Poke, slow enemies, secondary explosion. That's 1 or 2 more freebie tool over Jarvan's Q.

W Spell

Jarvan - Basic small shield. Sylas - Gap closer and massive healing. Another freebie BS heal over Jarvan's W "gap closer".

E Spell

Jarvan - Drops flag to do a bit of damage and increase his attack speed. Sylas - Dash, no cost mana massive shield, secondary cast long range hook gap closer and knock up. That's 4 spells rolled into one.

R Spell

Let's not even go here, Sylas gets to steal five different ults from enemy players. Jarvan only has one.

I just unlocked him to test in practice tool.

At full build level 18, I press E - E - W - Q and did 2,500+ damage.

On Ryze, I have to press Q - E - Q - W - Q - E - Q just to do the same amount of damage and get no free massive shield or massive healing.

This champion have it WAAAAY too easy.

Irelia got nerfs after nerfs after nerfs, what compensation did she get in return?

Akali got nerfed, what compensation did she get in return?

Some champions Riot give way too much free tools at no cost. Yasuo, Urgot, Camille, Sylas, Neeko, Viktor.
