Top Lane is not an Island?

is it me or is this just false hope spreading to top laners, in hopes to fulfill the meta prophecy? lately, i've been in too many games where top lane is completely ignored by the team and won't ever venture up there until the 2nd tier tower is down. junglers are also oblivious to top lane ganks. it has become frustrating to be the only champion who has to teleport into a team fight, win the team fight, secure the dragon -- only to be ignored by the team when top lane is needing assistance.

sure, teleport has been a popular meta pick summoner spell. but if the team is going to ignore the rest of meta play, then i might as well just go and split push all day.

Playing jg I like to gank top and mid more then bot lane. The only times I avoid top is if mid or bot is losing lane.

Top is island because there arent really any objectives to fight for there before 20 min when baron spawns. There is absolutely no reason to group top.

I hate going top because it's boring and a farm fest, and I feel like I have no effect on the rest of the map (and usually when I'm top, the rest of my lanes are losing).

I honestly really like the isolation of top lane. It makes me feel, more than literally any other position, that I am the sole person responsible for me. If my team is going to make me run around and do a bunch of crap early, then I'd like some jungle help to get me in a good position to do that. Otherwise, I'm fine with dueling my lane opponent for a while.

I feel like top has the most carry potential because if you can snowball your lead (which is what top lane is all about) then you put the enemy into a bind since top lane is far from anything worth grouping for the first 25 min you can force he enemy to make hard choices which is even more valuable in solo que where communication is harder to come by

As Shaco,I gank top lane a ton more instead of bot. Bot lane is just too ugh to deal with. Thresh, Leona, Braum,Bltz all lock you down while you get bursted, Vayne is bs. Jinx is certainly gankable, but almost always, the Jinx is paired up with one of the aforementioned supports. Either that, or by the time I am ready to gank both, their ADC is 3/0...
