Aren't RGMs supposed to be fun modes? Then why does Riot keep making odd design decisions that are diametrically opposed to making the mode fun?

Open the champion pool to all (or almost all) champions. -

  • I'm not sure why the decision was made to only include 15 champions out of 134, but this single decision will stop a lot of people from playing this game mode. You've basically told around 80% of the players, "You can't play your main, and you'll be forced to play a champion you barely know against people who do main those champs. Have fun. :-)"
  • I get it, you want the games to go fast, but even the champions you selected is a total grab bag of randoms. People are rightfully complaining that the champions selected make very little sense. If you want the games to go quickly, then just limit the item shop to offensive items and the free gold and exp. The result would be the same and more players could enjoy the mode.

Tweak the scoring format. -

  • Right now the game mode is just running around randomly and hope to get kills, I'm not opposed to this, but why even have objectives if they're barely worth your time? When I play I seem to be the only one who consistently tries to get the heralds while my team runs around doing f*** all. The objectives need to be worth more, that way if you don't play them you're more likely to lose.
  • Heralds should be worth 50 points. They are the most strategic objective on the map and the hardest to secure (in theory), and should reward you accordingly.
  • Ghosts should be 5 points, kills stay at 5 points, up the overall total needed to 500. Most of the games I've played last between 10-13 minutes, which is good, but doesn't allow for much strategy, most games are over around the 8 minute mark with the team with the most kills winning in a landslide. Kills are fun and important, but it's crowding out the other objectives, and the very limited time frame gives the team that gets ahead early, close to sure victory.

I'm not going to lie, most of your RGMs just aren't fun to play (nexus seige, nemesis draft, poro king, one for all, etc.), but this one can be, if you fix it's two glaring problems.

Kills aren't even close to objectives for point game... How do you think they don't matter? Clearing 2 ghosts is more than a kill and they don't even fight back... A demon herald is worth as much as an ace..
