So my last placement match end up going downhill as one of my teammates went AFK just before the mdigame. This has happened to me on two other occasions during my placement matches in S4. Riot said they will punished those who AFKs more heavily but what about the other players who took the lost?
Is there a way where they can have their LP lost reduced or have the game not reflected on their placement?

How quickly would people start getting flamed and goaded to afk in a game to reduce the LP for everyone else? This remains as the biggest hurdle against any form of LP loss reductions.
Right now the only water-tight idea I've seen is to detect disconnects that never once connected back the entire game. But of course that wouldn't help you in this situation.
gavalon551 votesSeeing how I played games where players tell each other to uninstall, this is a possibility. Then again, there is a huge penalty for the AFKer, which will eventually stack up until heavy bans are put into place. I understand your point that this could lead to more AFKs especially those with multiple accounts. It's possible for it to be abused but Riot has made it nearly impossible to repeatedly do it when you have a string of bad games.
Sir ArmaMalum1 votesHowever, that's even more incentive to harass someone else to leave instead of you for LP loss reduction in that case. Riot's incredibly wary of any addition to the game that can reinforce toxicity like that.
