Meanwhile the proper way to play Rengar is mostly as a bruiser top lane atm, abusing the free leap ferocity to force a million instant bad trades that automatically become good trades for rengar because W undoes half the damage you take and makes you CC immune with a 30/40/50% speed boost.

Well, he only has CC immunity if he has full ferocity. His ult can only see one player and is determined by your position which you control.

He is annoying to squishy but not really to anyone else unless he built tank or has some decent bonetooth stacks already. His ferocity is pretty easy to control as the enemy since it falls off out of combat so he already has to be fighting to even try the immunity thing so while he is building stacks you can CC him or if he comes in fully stacked then you let him use 1 ability then continue to CC him then kill him since he is a squishy himself (again unless he is building tank but that is a problem more complex to solve and affects all assassins).

Rengar can't have CC immunity from stealth though. And him using his empowered W means he deals no damage.
