I really enjoyed this game mode. It was the only reason i started playing again after a 2 year hiatus. Is is perma gone? Are they balancing? I cant seem to find any information as to why its not on my Game Mode anymore.
Lost R5 votesIt's an alternate game mode. About the time you stopped, they introduced a bunch of new game modes over time.
One for All: Everyone plays the same champion on each team.
Nemesis: The enemy team picks your champions for you.
Doombots: Co-op vs. AI against some obscenely hyperbuffed bots.
Ascension: A kill-based brawl in the Dominion map with Ascended Xerath in the center as a semi-epic monster. Whoever kills Xerath gains immense power at the cost of sustainability.
URF (Ultra Rapid Fire): 80% CDR and infinite mana for everyone, on top of a heap of other buffs.
Legend of the Poro King: ARAM map. Like regular ARAM, except you throw snowballs at each other with a one minute cooldown summoner spell. Landing 10 or so snowballs summons the Poro King, which acts as a super minion.
Burning Tides: Special Bilgewater-based event. A whole heap of new items and minions are added into the regular SUmmoner's Rift game for an extremely chaotic experience. Also the announcer is replaced by Gangplank.
Definitely Not Dominion: Like regular Dominion (which was removed earlier this year), but now the minion push is linear and each team has control over one node at all times.

Lost R5 votesWhoops. Burning Tides is actually called Black Market Brawlers. I didn't know what the name was, so I called it what the Bilgewater event last year was called. There's also Hexakill, which is 6v6.
Dominion was removed because it was a very divergent experience, and not all of the rules that work for Summoner's Rift work as effectively for Dominion, and vice versa. It would have also required Riot to put more resources, financial and otherwise, into trying to make it work when those same resources could go into other things. Combined with the fact that only a very small percentage of players regularly played Dominion and much of that percentage were bots, Riot decided that it wouldn't stay around as a permanent fixture. It was only a few weeks ago that it resurfaced.
But yeah, these alternate game modes pop up every weekend, and they have a schedule somewhere for what game modes come up next. The only ones in rotation at the moment are URF, Ascension, Definitely Not Dominion, One for All, and Poro King.

I do like ARAM, but i definitely liked this alot.

Hardly. The standard modes have plenty to offer. Good is entirely subjective.

Aram has been a standard mode for many seasons, same as Twisted Treeline. All the special modes like Nexus are put into the rotating queue from Friday to Monday.

Dominion. Yes, but a modified version of that is in the rotating queue.

JayHog19921 votesFirst of all, we had TWO straight weekends of Nexus Siege, I think some people might be getting sick of that gamemode for now (And yeah, even of ascension for the 5th time coming up. -.-).
Second, the gamemodes are from friday to monday, so you have 4 days to play gamemodes. I think that should be enough.

Mostly so that people just get to play gamemodes that they couldn't in the past, meaning that people who never got to experience the horrors of doombots or nemesis draft will get to do that and so on.
It also means that people will be able to try out new gamemodes that Riot makes sooner or later as well.
It's a tactic to avoid players being bored from the same old Rift over and over and over again.
