Like every year, new season = ranking soft reset. Playing in Bronze right now has no meaning. Almost every player has lost up to 6 divisions, meaning your Bronze 1 mates could have been Gold players in previous season. Like this Kata.
Roughly first month of the season is made to order people again after a shuffle. You can use this time to train (that's what I'll do), your rank will make sense once it's over. Don't overthink the matchmaking nor rank til then.
You do know that alt accounts exist right? Also pretty certain that the game doesn't track the champions you play in normals... could be wrong about that though. Also bronze? If you have even a slight understanding of how to play Kat and not feed early you could also get a billions kills with her on bronze since people in bronze have no idea how to deal with her.
