If you had to pick between balance and new champions...

I'll elaborate a bit better here:

Scenario 1: No new items/champions are added to the game. Riot focuses all of its resources and time into balancing everything to a pristine tune for the remainder of Leagues life; from balancing current champions and items, to balancing gold/distribution, minions, towers, jungle, exp- every detail of the game to "near" perfect levels (~95%). They begin to clearly define what beats what; for example Assassins -> Siege mages, but Bruiser/Fighter/Battlemage -> Assassins, etc.

Scenario 2: Riot focuses on constantly releasing new content. The game is ever changing and even more items, "new spells", etc. are being added into the game very frequently, to the point that you never know what the next patch will be like or how the meta will shift. Balancing becomes not even secondary, but tertiary and is a relatively low demand relative to their focus of pumping out content such as skins, champions, and things to keep the game "fresh".

I tried to write this without bias but I think its pretty clear which one I would pick; which would you?

I'd pick the first option because league already has a lot of champions and many of them are like forgotten alreadyAatrox we don't need more

sadly scenario 1 is just wishful thinking would never workout even if riot went in that direction

I think people don't understand that

  1. the PBE servers are garbage are determining actual balance
  2. Balance changes effect other regions and elos differently
  3. You can't just drastically change all the champions at once because even small changes can drastically shake up the meta and at that point you may have to start all over.

Also i think people don't understand that the balance team and content creator team are not the same team as far i know and i don't believe shifting more members to either team would actually create any noticeable difference

New champs because the game is balanced around team play not the "God Complex" having solo player who has no understanding of the concept of teamwork and decides to whine about balance instead of learning to play the game as intended.

Option 2, just because option 1 is imposible, you cant balance everything, the whole point of champions and picks is that certain champions inherently counter others or add to a certain team composition, and this is not a game of equal pieces like chess on each side, there is a huge champion pool and runes/summoners and items designed to build, counter and strategize vs your opponents.

And new champions are always fun to play, it keeps things fresh.
