Can we not stop talking about lee sin?

Fawksea··18 votes·649 views

He's still an issue, no nerfs to him have happened and yet people stopped complaining, from experience if you bitch for long enough riot will listen, and the only reason lee sin's still get played is cus sejuani/galio/yasuo+ couple others still in the game and he manages to.. safeguard... through the ban phase.

He's been the jungle lord for 5 years man. Clearly they aren't going to do shit about it. 10 bans is the greatest thing introduced to this game, because I can bypass Riot's bias, and make sure that he will never be in a single one of my games.

Lee is banned in every game I play.

He's been nerfed twice just this season.

not enough

It actually is, but, sure. Justify why it isn't.

They want him out of the spotlight, and to not be popular for a while.

There were some rumors about another mobile Ionian monk (leaks confirmed false), but that could reduce the Lee Sin mains playerbase. Rakan could've been trying to get Lee Sin-type players to support, too.

But it isn't fun for a champ to always be in the spotlight.

Lee, Elise, Darius, Yasuo, Riven, Zed, Yasuo, Ahri, Ori, etc.

Again, LOL at people upvoting arguments without justification.

But please tell us why it wasn't enough and how Riot should nerf him.

Not sure why you were downvoted. OP falsely claimed he hasn't been nerfed, you replied with an actual fact.

Ah, who am I kidding, I do know why you were downvoted: Gameplay is just a huge circlejerk.

I'll stop you right there. He's been nerfed rather recently. Twice this season.

Maybe instead of posting blatant complaint threads, post HOW and WHY you think he's broken. Saying that X champion is broken is useless, obnoxious, and just complaining. Giving a legitimate reason why is actual discussion.

That -5 movement speed really killed him. Kappa

Wet Dryman3 votes

No nerfs should really kill a champion (unless he is a hell to balance for extended periods of time and must be kept weak till rework). The truth is that Lee Sin nerfs decreased his win rate and decrease in movement speed value is more impactful than you think.

Shuyin1782 votes

I remember old Cloud Drake and how it gave very little movement speed that was higher than 5 I remember the tests players did to compare with and without Cloud Drake and how the person with the Cloud Drake got to a place literally 1.1 second faster, that is not an exaggeration

So no, I don't believe the drop in movement speed did anything to him. He has a gap closer on his Q, a ward hop, and an AOE slow. That movementspeed drop did nothing to him. If Riot wanted to hurt his mobility they would have went for a spell.

Wet Dryman2 votes

Do you have any posts or videos about this test? I saw people bringing this and no one actually ever linked source. Also in microscale it indeed hurts his sticking power because every autoattack is ministun applied to the dealer. Against running target it creates little gaps that Lee Sin must close with movement in order to aa once more (it reduces his DPS in duels). It is very minor nerf, yes but it is statistically proven that it did hurt his winrate.

Vandiril did the test It was not a significant difference. If you notice it was a 15 movement speed difference, which is 3x more than Lee's -5. And he was being sarcastic because back then Cloud Drake was nothing more than a meme with how bad it was.

Alright but the microscale point still stands. 5 ms is enough to be kited easier by ranged champions. With how autoattack reliant Lee Sin is in early duels it makes him weaker to hit&run tactics and if he misses his skillshots (yes, that's totally possible) he still loses some sticking power.

Shuyin1782 votes

Don't forget that Lee also has a strong slow that if he gets near someone he will land. In early duels, sure it might do something level 1 or 2, but level 4+ or when Lee ganks, that -5 won't mean anything to him because a smart jungler doesn't just run it up the lane and announce "YO I'M HERE RUN FROM ME", they go around the side to flank or wait in a lane bush for the prey to get closer so he doesn't miss.

I think that nerf was aimed at early game duels limiting his early game snowballing if played right. Before if he didn't hit you with anything he would still outrun you, now he is slower and more champs will outrun him or at least the time required to close the gap for him will be enough for you to run to safety in some scenarios.

Later in the game with zeal items your ranged ADC will still be faster than Lee meaning that they can dodge his skillshots easier and make advantage of his lower MS by kiting him. Probably change for early game but it has some impact later anyway.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

Clearly you have never played a slow melee champion. Or been a jungler. 5 ms is a lot. Given that, in normal scenarios (i.e. Everyone is in "base" form (Kled is mounted, Gnar is not enraged, no abilities are active), using base values (level 1, no boots, no boosts), and excepting Pantheon and Yi, everyone's speed is between 325 (notable champions: Ashe, Mordekaiser, Azir, Caitlyn) and 350 (Akali, Jax, Trundle, Shyvana), 5 is 20% of the range. 5 ms is the difference between escaping a gank and being worn down. 5 ms allows you to kill or be kited to death. It's a minor number, but a huge impact.

It's even moreso on a jungler, who's very existence is roaming from camp to camp. Mordekaiser can be slow because he just sits in lane. A slow jungler will be worse because said jungler inherently cannot clear as fast, nor can he gank as fast.

Most impactful changes are usually not big, huge ones. +20 mana to a Q, -5 ms, +5 AD, increased AA delay…all of those have WAY bigger impacts than you imagine. You see the -5 ms and see a small nerf in speed. I see it and can automatically tell that it's a significant change, because Lee can no longer stick to Sion without applying CC.

And let's not pretend that Riot only took off 5 ms. We both know they also nerfed his ult's CD in early game by a significant amount. And that they cut off 25% of its base damage at the start of the season.

I know how important movement speed can be for immobile champions, they're the main champions I use. Your argument is silly because you're just looking at champion base stats and not the champions themselves. Kled has his dash on Skarl and his dash on his un-mounted Q, mini-Gnar has a hop that can go twice its distance if he lands on someone, Ashe has multiple slows, Azir has his solider dash, Cait has her net that doubles as movement+slow, Akali has a targeted dash+blink on her shroud, Jax has a jump, Trundle has his ice field, and Shyvana has her Burnout. Morde was the only decent example you presented in that list, so you should probably stop now.

For someone like Lee Sin though who has 2 strong gap closers, a slow, and a push The movement speed nerf did nothing to him, only his ult nerf did
