Forcing a macro meta shift

Is the end game with all the recent changes to get rid of the overall meta the game has been built around for years? Bot lane as a whole is being marginalized since objectives can be secured by practically anyone. It's like Riot is trying to change the overall formula to shake up the core meta of Single top heavy, single mid squishy and duo bot. This would be all well and good if they hadn't been reinforcing the meta for the past 5 years. They invested very heavily in the idea of the macro meta never changing but now they are trying to force it to. If ADCs aren't useful, the purpose of the meta falls apart. An entire roll is more or less dedicated to ensuring ADCs success in a game, without ADCs what's the point of even having a duo bot lane? Hell, what's the point of having most supports in general? The game itself is built around the idea of needing ranged carrys to secure victory, without them teamfights are just a moshpit of statchecking sprinkled with AOE spells from Mages because you don't really need to form lines or protect anyone in general, with all the damage that's been pumped into the game any champion can carry.

I just don't understand the direction they're pushing the game in, it's like as a response to losing tons of players they decided to double down on changing instead of going back to what worked so well -for years- in the first place.

if you want loyal player base/clients dont take them out of their confort zone NEVER

thats the same crap that happened with windows 8 and its still happening with windows 10 if we are talking about a digital product

change is good but pushing too much of a radical changes are not good for anyone

Supports offer good value for a low amount of gold. It could become a duo mid to protect the often squishy AP, but they won´t fall out of the game, as the value they bring is too high.

And teamfights in it´s core are always statchecks. ADC´s generally are the essence of statcheck. And now there are still champs to protect, if you have irelia bot, she needs to be protected, or the yasuo, or your midlaner, or generally your stronges/most fed champ in the team.
