KogMaw has such a brutal curve

Look at this winrate curve based on time. It's no wonder he's having such a hard time when games are closing out in 20-25 mins, and most people are like 'Oh it's GG' at the 15 minute mark if they are even remotely behind.

At the same time, the dramatic spike in winrate after 35ish minutes really shows just how ridiculous he can be late. This is despite being an incredibly immobile champion with very little utility in his abilities.

It almost seems like Kog'Maw is being balanced as a 'Win Condition', in which once he reaches his third or fourth item, he begins to eat through people regardless of itemization. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but I'm curious as to how others feel about the current state of Kog'Maw?

because he's a statcheck that turns invincible after he gets enough stats

Now that you point it out, I don't have a problem with it, it's kinda fun to look at statistics like this and play around it. "Balance as a win condition" seems accurate and kinda fun to play around when you know that stat. Will remember this when a kog is in game now XD.

Meanwhile Sona starts with 41% and moves up to a consistent 54% past 25 minutes.

More brutal, I'd say.

It's true of a lot of high scaling champs like Fiora, Yi, and supposedly Vayne (Although her graph sucks a bit right now and she has the "lowest" curve of a hyper carry...that said, she starts spiking at 20-25 instead of 30+)

I think it's fine. No problem in having a champ require time investment. The alternatives for buffing are making their early game better (Which makes them busted and have no weakness) or buff their late game which is already busted.

Kog'maw is a nightmare when he's in a strong state because he can out-DPS and burst all but the toughest of fighters, so when he gets peel and a good support he can be untouchable.

Frankly I'd like to see more power put into his ult, nothing else. Perhaps a slight shred on the ult or a 15% slow, nothing mad.

Riot really needs to remove such win conditions since this is the Yu Gi Oh equivalent of trying to play Exodia when your opponent beats you in the first turn

Kog should be more self-sufficient in exchange for a weaker lategame. It's no fun being so extremely reliant on your team.

I has always been like this. I don't see any problems with this. This is really not a soloQ champion, picking him is high risk- high reward. You have to have a real faith in your teammates to trust them your scaling and then peeling for you. I kinda like Kog, but only with enchanters, that I almost don't play except Kayle sup.

Basically league's version of Exodia or Destiny board.

As much as I hate being on a timer when playing against Kog'maw, it's a pretty fair trade in this meta. Last time I tried picking the champion I got demolished. I even had a very good nami support who was trying her best but I was useless. It's your reward for getting out of that laning phase.

Championgg is unaccurate to the point of being false most of the time.

SpaghettiVase11/14/2018, 9:13:44 PM1 votes

Seems fine to me. He's a hypercarry who scales with items and game time. Remember when he got hyper carry stats by 20 minutes during the ardent meta? I sure as hell do. Games will be extended by the time preseason rolls around so no changes are necessary to him, or hypercarries of his caliber.

I think the problem for kog is that his late game isn't even that good compared to vayne/lucian/xayah/kaisa/etc. His ult is basically useless for ad kog. Just weird kit in general

I don't find Kog that strong lategame. You need speedboosts and protection. Other ADCs become almost godmode with full build and can function alone.

i wouldn't completely say he eats through people regardless of itemization item 3194 item 3075 item 3110 but he does melt things alot quicker than other champs late game
