So I am trying a no item challenge on Thresh, and I had the idea of not having any runes to add onto it. But when I tried i found that the game defaulted me to another rune page.

Just pick runes that don't benefit him whatsoever. Handicap yourself. Like go Unsealed Spellbook and never use it etc.

That is what I am thinking. it was just so odd that the game auto locked a rune page in for me. Didn't know that was a feature.

It's probably a safeguard for people who accidentally create or select blank rune pages.

If you really wanted to do a no-rune and no-item challenge on Thresh, take:

Unsealed Spellbook (don't use it)
Hexflash or Perfect Timing
Anything in the second tree since they can all be ignored
Time Warp Tonic (if you're doing a no-item challenge you may or may not use potions? idk)
Resolve or Precision (secondary tree)
Revitalize and Shield Bash
Legend: Bloodline and Overheal

Also: I checked your match history and I'm not really sure if you're doing this in ranked or norm.

Just know that doing something like this isn't a good idea in a competitive environment and 99% of people will consider you a troll.

Norms is probably cool though but I know some will still consider you a griefer lol

Don't be surprised if you get banned for it.

I usually play in ranked. I like the environment of it. And prob won't do it long enough to get banned. If you seen my Match history then you can see I don't usually stick to one lane or champ too often XD

Good ideas though, I think i'll try it out later on. And though I did say I don't use items, i feel as a support i need to at least get the warding trinket. Since this isn't a troll, and wards are essential for the game.

You can still get banned for those one or two games, no matter how well you perform. Just be aware of that.

It may not happen but you could lose your entire account over it. You'd also be ruining the game for others.

My theory is that thresh's kit is so perfect that he doesn't need items. Well, maybe some MR if there is a lot of magic damage going around, since his souls only give him armor.

Yeah he gets armor but his base armor is shit to compensate for that. You wont get far enough into the game for it to be really relevant. Especially with no hp items to make the armor effectiv.

True enough i suppose. Should keep me alive enough to make a play though, and so long as i don't play like an ape and land a good hook or lantern save, my team shouldn't notice much of a differences in play style. Or so I theorize.

na, went strait into a ranked match as i always do. Thresh has a lot of stuff going for him so he doesn't really need items to be effective. I usually just build him tank with as many support items as I can get on him. item 3118 item 2065 item 3190 item 3905 item 3107 etc

Not sure about anyone else, but I am having fun. And in the end,isn't that what's most important? The fun we have and the friends we make along the way? And maybe the salt of rage from a good ranked match
