League of Tanks.

I understand the League of tanks, and in fact I'm someone who favors it. What I don't favor is certain champions that are beyond tanky, and can 100/0 you faster than a Katarina could ever wish of doing. Such as, Cho'Gath. RoA, Frozen Heart, Abyssal Sceptre, and then a Randuins, you have yourself rupture, silence, and an ult and you were probably dead before he ate you. It's either be tanky, take damage, dish barely any, or dish the damage, and take none. The best of both worlds shouldn't encounter. That's quite unbalanced.

You ready for this? I'm gonna drop some knowledge on ya. Let's say that you get caught out of position against Cho, and he manages to land his full combo on you - Rupture, Silence, Ultimate. Let's say this is end game. He has a RoA and Abyssal so he has 150 AP.

Rupture: 305 base + 150 ap (1:1 ratio) = 455 damage Feral Scream: 275 + 150 ap (0.75 ap) = ~388 damage Ult: 650 + 150( .7 ap) = 755 True Damage

So his magic damage is 842.5. IF you have base 30 MR - 20 MR for abyssal then you have 10 MR so you take ~90% damage. 842.5 * .9 = 758.25

758 + 755 = 1513 damage

You're saying that Cho'Gath can 100-0 you from full HP with this build by late game. You know who Cho'Gath can 100-0 with those items at level 18?

No one.

Mini-Gnar has the lowest lvl 18 health at 1645 and even he would survive. And even then this is assuming you don't build any MR or health at all, in which case you deserve to die anyway.

AND this is considering that Cho Gath has above-average burst damage for a tank due to his scaling and his ultimate dealing true damage. So this simply isn't true as far as the League of Tanks goes.

You're missing the Randuins. And this was mid game, not late. Roughly level 14/15

I was ignoring his defensive items because you are arguing that Cho can 100-0 someone, so his defensive items change nothing. Whether he has item 3143 or not his damage is unchanged.

And if its 14/15 then his damage output will be lower (significantly, since he'll lose a chunk of true damage from his Ult) so my point remains.

Furthermore: If you're trying to argue that Champions who can be tanky and still do Tons Of Damage (TM) are unbalanced, that is really more prevalent with actual Fighters (Riven, Jarvan, etc) rather than true, full on Tanks (like Malphite and Leona).

How outleveled were you, with how little MR?

Yes Cho'Gath is a very annoying champion until mid game. But those are the slew of people who go full AP. Building tanky Cho and you won't deal that much damage. Except with champions like Vayne who don't give a fuck about tanks, tanks should be buffed ever so slightly to not cause unbalance.

tank itemization is at the lowest its been in a LONG time, too. Tanks dont really need a buff - they need more HP. 500 should be the norm, and 800 should be the "high". Then we can buff warmogs back to 1000 HP and get atmas back....

.... I miss atmas.

To be perfectly fair, it's entirely possible to just walk out of Cho'Gath's Q. He shouldn't be able to burst you down so long as you weren't dearly out of positioned anyway.
