@Meddler - Yorick update still in the future?

I remember Yorick being worked on in the past and the project was sort of put on hiatus/cancelled (I forget which) and someone from Riot said that he was still going to be worked on. Is that still happening right now? When can we expect any gameplay or visual update for yorick, if any?

I ask this because right now Yorick is becoming weaker and weaker IMO. In a meta of more and more mobility/escapes/gap closers, Yorick is doomed to not have any CC or any real gap closers, and is only good for the laning phase of the game and to ult the ADC in teamfights late-game.
