How to carry with Yorick?

Well, i've been interested in playing a 'unique' more or less unplayed champ for a while now hence Yorick. The Grave Digger. However, even with my mediocre skills(Bronzeish/Silver) Either Jungle/ Mid / or even support, I go 0-9 two matches in a row with full builds and even playing defensively. I'm just wondering what the trick is for Yorick? What am I missing?

I've tried all different mastery combinations from full offensive/Utility+Def/Pure def running full CD runes/ Scaling Health/ Phys dmg rune/ Atk speed.

Lane is about harass. Last hit should be your focus till you get a feel if you can make some positive trades vs your lane, till then get cs and harass with your ghouls. But watch your Mana early.

Often enemy wastes time and cs run ing from ghouls.

Team fights you aren't as strong as say Darius who can run into a pile and wreck but you are no pushover either. Use your ult on your ADC or whoever is most fed. With all ghouls out you an take a fair amount of punishment. Just a few thinga

It's kind of hard to answer without access to your match history to see builds and such. Also, jungle/mid/support are all bad places to take him. He's a top laner/split pusher with a reasonable teamfight once he gets his basic items.

Yorick is an ad caster you should never get att speed runes it's better to go 15ad arm or yellow and mr glyphs it's more well rounded

Further more you wanna max e for maximum dmg bc no one knows e actually scales off ap when it's castes

he was all about early game bullying, but with mana pots gone you cant really do that anymore. you won't carry as yorick with his scalings. i would suggest picking up different 'unique' champions like Lissandra Galio Aatrox Nunu Zyra

Trust me read yorick abilities it's more helpful that way

yorick has been nerfed into oblivion since seasons passed. Riot doesn't want people to play him

the trick though is that he's entirely an early game champion

with late game, he can't do anything...mediocre damage, mediocre movespeed and range

he's very tanky, but he will never get in range to become that tanky

basically, his role atm as a champion is to make one lane's early game hell and then to cease to exist other than ulting your carry before they die so you have an extra 10 second max for carry to kill

The removal of mana pots really hurt him, and Riot is not likely to compensate buff him since they dont want him strong until they figure out how to rework him. Corrupting Potion is annoying on him but probably not a bad start, Doran ring is alright but Yorick is AD... You max E, it offers you damage and sustain. Max Q if you are fighting a melee champ because you can easily harass them away from minions, max W if you are fighting ranged so you can also harass them away from minions (obviously different situations call for different abilities). Your goal is not really to kill your lane opponent, its to push them out of lane, Yorick has low kill potential unless your opponent is stupid or your jungler is camping you. Just farm basically, once early-late or mid-early game rolls around you are probably one of the strongest people so start doing stuff. Again, Yorick is intentionally kept weak so don't expect much out of him, just try to not die and do your part.

Corrupting potion into tear Doran ring it's the gold efficient into a tank Yorick is has better ad scaling

Ryze is better than yorick atm

Weird, I didn't see all these replies and I typed "Bump" Said it was after all your replies, anyway. Edit. So I just went mid and did decently, went 2-3 with Yommus/Cleaver/Tenacity boots+Distortion Flash/Ignite and I think I may have been playing him a bit incorrectly till now, I usually just ulted myself I didn't know it was better to use on an ADC. I'll read the skills next time :p

My plan is to just play him constantly until i'm known as the Yorick overlord of NA and eventually play it all the way up to challenger, cause, yolo.
