Boosted? What the hell??

So recently I went from silver to gold tier and i LOVE it. Super fun and exciting, though i have this issue with people who are boosted or say," I'm boosted" What does that even mean? Is it cheating?

For some reason, it makes me sad...Like red robin hood coming home excited AF trying to get some cookies from grandma and the hoe turns out to be a wolf.

What are your thoughts on boosted people or boosted in general.

"boosted" means that you had to 1. either someone got you to an elo that you don't belong. 2. You actually suck and got lucky to get where you are now. 3. Suck in general. etc.

Don't pay attention to that and just play. People who tend to talk smack are the boosted ones!

red riding hood (totes puts a different impression) people think we are not at the elo you are playing at. mostly it mean people think other people carried you to that elo

It's an expression people pick up from pros and streamers. Now it's used pejoratively, even when it doesn't make sense. Make a mistake in bronze/silver, and somebody will STILL call you boosted =P

to be honest after looking at your match history i can understand why people would think you are boosted. How people judge league players goes like this.

Bronze-The worse of the worse, people who just don't get the game at all

Silver- Not good players, but not bad either, the people who learned how to play the game to a consistent enough level where they can actually have fun

Gold: The Above average players, players who can do some pretty cool shit but still have those moments where they hard core scrub. The gamer friend who you would go to for tips, but at the end of the day is nothing overly spectacular.

Plat-The really good players who almost always perform well, whom rarely have a bad game

Diamond- The untouchables, the players whom no one can even play with anymore for if he or she played with anyone on a lower level it would almost feel like cheating from how good they are. The near epitome of perfection

Master/Challenger- The Gods and legends we hear about, whom have reached the point where they are so good that they can get paid for it. They are literally inhumanly good at this game.

That being said, looking at your match history you look to be a very inconsistent gold player, you have moments where you have very solid games, and than other games where you literally hit double negatives, which is just flat out bad. My advice to you is to simply learn to be more consistent and if someone flames you just press the mute button.
