Where are all the toxic support stories?

Seriously, I notice that everyone will complain to high water about junglers, carries, and tops, but noone EVER seems to have stories about toxic supports. My whole week has been nothing BUT toxic supports. Their playstyle and attitude consists of:

  1. Blaming the ADC when the support facedives with no warning ping into the enemy bot laners when they both have max offensive runes and then the support dies right as they line up with the top of the river, then continue to insult you like you're a child even though you're doing WAY better than they are.
  2. Complaining that the pro on the team has no idea what they're talking about (when they do).
  3. Complaining by saying "GG, we suck!" the whole time because they happened to pick a champ that can't support for shit.
  4. They'll complain about how everyone else sucks when they have the worst record on the team.
  5. When they pick a champ that's sole purpose is to screw up teamfights for your team in an otherwise perfect team comp.(Janna: I'm helping, hurrhurrhurr)
  6. When your support is insulting other players and doesn't even remember to buy a goddamn sightstone. (You're support, genius)
  7. Not using their initiation when the jungler pings for a gank in what would be a 3v2 situation, and then telling the jungler HE sucks.

Do any of you have any support horror stories? I'd like to hear them.

The worst is when they decide to support another lane, basically fucks up everyone. The solo laner becomes underleveled from sharing exp, and the ADC gets underfarmed because they have to play super passively

but it is a solid tactic if the adc sucks. If you adc sucks and is blaming you, you roam and latch on to whoever is actually carrying and help them. This can change the game and is better then staying with someone who you don't synergize with or is hopeless.

TBH I've never tried it and I've never seen it work.

If there's really nothing I can do bot lane, I'll roam to another lane and try and make a play but I'm not going to straight up duo lane with them and make them share exp, that just puts our solo laner at a disadvantage if I ever leave.

by they time this normally happens, the game is like 10+ minutes in and is at the end of the lane phase anyways.

That feeling when your "support" starts with Doran's Ring, never buys a Sightstone, doesn't ward, steals your farm and kills, and then blames YOU when you're underleveled, underfarmed, and underpowered come the mid-late game...

Ugh worst. One time I asked my support, how do you plan on getting any gold? Are you just going to wait for the base gold regen?

He said yes, I was like wow... that's so inefficient.

then be bought a spellthiefs.

The passive gold is nothing to scoff at if you rune for it. 5.3 gold/10 is REALLY good...

If coin had no sustain but g/10, it would easily make g/10 support builds viable.

I only get mad when they don't buy a sightstone and when it feels like they aren't even in lane with you and are just a exp sponge. well also dat one Janna who kept 1v5ing into the enemy team eventhough there were vision wards...

Kasara2 votes

I generally hate it when someone calls support, never buys sightstone and then complains about the lack of vision...

I love how people downvote this because of butthurt. I'm sorry, but yes, some supports are toxic. It's hilarious how people find the notion offensive.

i try to avoid telling stories about toxic people at all. just report them and move on with your life, its just a game.

I have two of them actually. I had a Nunu support one time when I was jungle, he started on my blue buff, which I promptly picked up, because if the Veigar in mid lane doesn't want it I'm taking it. He promptly responds with "Wtf I wanted that blue buff I can do so much work with blue." His item build you ask? Maybe he went damage you say? item 2049 item 1001 item 3065 item 3110 Oh, but maybe it'll be good because he can be useful for the teamfight with the extra CDR and mana regen. Oh right he flash ults and everyone walks away without him even cancelling it early to get at least some of the damage off. "GG if I had blue I would have got a penta. I'm feeding now." Which he proceeds to do for 8 straight deaths and throws the game. The support threw the game you say? How is that possible supports practically get carried every game anyway? Not when the support actively fed all 8 of those deaths straight to the enemy Vayne.

Next I had a Braum who knew everything about the game and exactly how we should play it at all times. He swore at everyone and said such horrifically offensive things the entire game, it would have made sailors cringe. He spent more of the game yelling at people in chat than actually playing. Got repeatedly pissed off because myself and the ADC would pick up double kills in bot lane when I ganked because we didn't wait for 30 seconds for him to get back to lane after he backed prematurely after I pinged up to the limit as did the ADC. Sat there under turret and yelled at us for going in without him, while the ADC and I had a 20 second fight with the rest of the lane and picked up a double kill, he started moving 18 seconds into the fight after he finished yelling at the top laner for not suicide diving an Aatrox who's bloodwell was still up. Told the mid laner who was crushing his lane opponent and roaming the advantage they had all over the map, to stop roaming because "the ADC needs to get kills on his own or he isn't worth carrying." told us that we all sucked after we lost the game, we finished relatively well for a lost game, where he finished 0/25/6.

Geez, I feel sorry for you. The Nunu and Braum both sound like an absolute disease to the LoL community.

That's more or less what I put into the reports.

maybe because the type of people who main support aren't generally as toxic? Have you ever seen someone queue up, call support, and do any of this? sure people who are forced into support may be toxic, but i don't think that reflects at all on support mains.

FriskySwiss1 votes

While that may be the case in draft, you PICK to be a support in Team Builder. So in Team Builder, yes, they do pick support, so the blame is on them.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

Very true, i guess my point is that the type of people who main support are far more humble and far less likely to be toxic than carry roles. That's not to say that there aren't trolls in every role. You hear about more toxic adc/mid laners than support/jungle because they take a different, less self centered, mindset to play competently.

Bobloser35551 votes

I have to agree there are many toxic supports too but probably still x3 less than toxic adcs especially Vayne players for some reason.

Toxic supports don't exist.

Oleandervine1 votes

As a support main, I find major flaws in your criticisms - mainly in that EVERYONE does better than the support because Supports are not allowed to get kills (without getting yelled at) and our assists are 100% dependent on the ADC and Jungler. Additionally, just because someone picks a champ to support with that doesn't adhere to the meta doesn't make it a bad pick; a lot of champions can be great supports if you know how to build them properly and if you know how they need to function. For instance, someone like Sion could be a great tank support with the slow from his Q and the ranged poke/armor shred from E; Most mages, like Veigar, Xerath, and even LeBlanc can function very well for setting up kill lanes and allowing for very aggressive play styles from the ADC. Peel and heals are not the only type of support styles, yet most people seem to think that a support is bad if they can do neither. Furthermore, a "champ that's sole purpose is to screw up team fights for your team" like Janna is just childish misinterpretation. Janna, and champions like Bard and Kench, do indeed have bizarre ways of interacting with teamfights; however, their abilities do not make them inherently bad, only the timing of the player using them. Janna and Bard have both seen HEAVY competitive play and are hardly troll picks because their ults "ruin team fights." A player picking these champs is not going to be nutso brain dead in team fights if they are familiar with these champs, and even if they are, the reason they perceived to use their ult is most likely to save someone's skin, which is in your team's favor. There's always a silver lining, so if you can't see it, maybe you need to improve or learn to adapt. I've seen way more than my fair share of completely imbecilic ADCs who think they can pull off major kills on a sliver of health if they have someone else to help them, and they almost always immediately rage if they die. Protecting them from their own stupidity is sometimes worth screwing up a confrontation for, because having them feed is a whole lot worse than disengaging a fight and catching their anger in the long run.

Oh my god. Once i was playing MissFortune . And i made sure to say "Haha I'm new to adc, so i might be bad, sorry if i dont quiet live up to your expectations!" I was being THE friendly adc and the support instalocked Soraka , so i was like, cool, ok, i love Soraka ! once we got in the game, everyone was like, "GG HF!! <3" and the soraka was just there, and i was like, ok thats normal. After we got into lane, we beat them to their turret. Before i even get into the point here, lets just say soraka keeps taking my cs and pings me when i 'take' 1 from them and then. And then. Flash forward to the time when we forced them under turret, we haven't had first blood yet. Soraka summoner 4 summoner 3 Ashe UNDERTURRET. the blitz pulled her after she autod ashe. I couldn't catch up to ashe because she was already by the second turret , used summoner 7 summoner 4 After soraka has fallen, i see a SHIT TON of pings and a " wtf mf you couldn't even kill her you fucking suck what are you doing? you fucking suck?!?!" and "/all report mf for trolling." so i was like " oh, a toxic support!" She doesn't buy wards. She doesnt place wards. "Mf can you fucking talk so we can work things out? can someone teach her how to fucking play? shes so retarded. what a retarded piece of shit." "Sorry I don't mean to be toxic but you fucking suck." 1.I didn't do anything thats "unprofessional" or "retarded." 2. Who flash and exhausts under turret? 3. Why would you blame your adc when u see no minions under turret, blitz heal and ashe heal and flash, go in, then blame adc for your death?

I was so triggered as she just decided to feed.

2/18/4

everyone hated her though, so it was worth.

reported.

for feeding. [slayer-jinx-unamused]
